Hello student,

To become an IAS,  you should appear for the UPSC CS examination, which has three stages. Before that, there are certain eligibility criteria. One should have a bachelor's degree and should be 21 years of age. This bachelor's degree can be in any stream from the approved colleges. You can also start you preparation from your college level. It would be best, if you choose subjects like political science, sociology, history or economics in your graduation as they have a huge overlap with the general studies paper in both the preliminary and the main examination. Also, develop the habit of reading newspapers, if not and keep yourself updated with the current affairs. Practise a lot of tests along with your preparation. Consistency in preparation is the only key of you need to crack this exam.

Hope this helped. All the best!
