There are plenty of options after 12 if you are interested in computer science.
Even if you were not a computer student in school, its absolutely fine to start undergraduate program in computers.
You need to select the institutions, shortlist them, pass the grades of the entrance tests (if any), consider the affordabillity finance factor etc and look into the courses.Since, you are good in Computers then I would personally suggest you to choose Engineering field.
•BTech or BE in computer science engineering
BTech or BE in computer science engineering (CSE) is a course of four years(8 semesters). In this course, we study about topics related to computer programming and networking, algorithms, programming languages, computation, computer-hardware systems, computer software and program design.
You can get hired as software developers, data scientists and software engineers.
•BTech in Information Technology (IT)
IT engineering course focuses on information theory and management. It is a four-year course covering computer science, engineering mechanics and mathematics, operating systems, software project management and microprocessors. After completing a BTech (IT), you can test products or focus on web and software development or work as IT specialists and office administrators.
•Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA)
A BCA is a three-year course that teaches you about various aspects of software development and basic computer application.
During your BCA degree, subjects like database management, web technology, operating systems, software engineering, and languages like HTML, Java, and C++ are taught. After completing your BCA, some careers you can pursue are application analyst, data analyst, information system manager, IT consultant, database administrator, network administrator, mobile application developer and big data analyst.
•Bachelor of Science (BSc) in computer science
BSc is another three-year course that includes computer application, computer science and its services. You will study subjects related to programming, architecture, computer networking and core subjects like system programming, data structures and web technology.
Some typical job roles to pursue after a BSc course are system architect, web developer, mobile app developer, software engineer, website designing, data analyst and network engineer.
Computer Science or Information Technology could be beneficial for you and these two branches have a broad scope. CS Graduates are paid higher in comparison to all other branches of engineering. However, if you pursue your course from a reputed institute like IIT, NIT or IIIT then you may easily get a job in Multi National Company.
Good luck!
Thank You.
