The variation between the gate score of SC category candidates and general category candidates is always wide if you see the cutoff list. It is so because of the reservation and relaxation provided to the OBC and SCST category.
The variation you can see in various branches are
General category:34.4 marks required for AE
SC category: 22.9 marks required for AE.
