IELTS is conducted multiple times in a year. A total number of 48 IELTS dates (including Academic and General Training formats) were scheduled for the year 2018. It is mostly conducted on Thursdays or Saturdays. You can choose your date from the list of available IELTS dates while registering for the test. As per the eligibility criteria to appear for IELTS, there are no minimum eligibility criteria for IELTS. As IELTS is conducted to assess a candidate’s proficiency in the English language, any individual who wishes to pursue education or seeking work opportunities abroad can apply for the IELTS test (both Academic and General Training). Exam pattern- There are two versions of the IELTS test, namely IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training and the results are graded on the unique IELTS 9-band scale for both the formats.
Both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training are composed of four sections namely, Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. While each candidate is required to take the same Listening and Speaking modules in both the versions, it is the Reading and Writing modules that alters for the two versions.
