Which branch does give more employment opportunities in engineering department
Hello Srinivasarao,
Selecting branch depends upon various factors and employment is one of the factors. In India getting a job is more dependent on college rather than your branch if you are aiming for the non-core sector mostly coding, debugging, data analysis. IT companies employ you irrespective of your branch you just have knowledge of coding.
Mostly in NITS and IITS most of the jobs are from the non-core sector. Core jobs are an option only if you are in branches like mechanical, civil, electrical there are few branches whose core have too less employment for them non-core is the only option.
Selecting branch depends upon your interest as you have to work in this field for the rest of your life. You cannot select for a branch which just has more employment but you don't have any interest in that field.
In the current situation, the Indian market is blooming with IT companies, software companies, data analytics, so in short Computer science is the most employable branch in this current time. In industry, there is a shift from labor to automation this shift is the most noticeable and substantial shift even automobile, electric companies need software engineers to maintain their computer systems, IT section. this exponential growth is affecting the growths of more core branches like civil, mechanical, electrical. But in most of the college student from these branches learn to code and get jobs in the software sector. So once you get admission in college and if you are the non-core person then branch not matter much.
But Srinivasroa it would be my request that you choose the branch of your interest.
Branch is the discipline for which you will work for the rest of the life. You can get into coding from any branch you want but if you don't have any idea about coding then branch matters a lot.
for example, A like cars and want to work for an automobile company then it is obvious he will get interested in mechanical branch and will excel in his discipline but A take admission in computer science because it was easy to get a job in the computer field he will get fade up of his branch very soon and will end into not something great.
Thank you,

Hii T Srinivasarao,
Well if you to have job in private sector and you priority is package then obviouly you should take computer science ot IT branch.
but if you want to get a job in Government sector ,then you should take one o the core brances.like ECE,Mechnical,Civil,Electricals.
Hope you understand
thank you
According to stats around 1.5 million engineer aspirants completing their engineering degree degree, and about 40% only get jobs. Using 2013 placement statistics of IIT-Bombay, Milind Sohoni, a computer science professor at the institute, found that 45% of the BTech students took up jobs in finance and consulting, 24% in IT and 8% in FMCG and non-IT. Just 22% took up jobs in engineering and technology, which Sohoni argues is the most relevant sector to IIT-Bombays mandate and training.
This tells us that neither is working in technology companies a priority for students nor does an engineering degree guarantee a job.
Hope this will help you.
Good luck.
Well as a matter of fact Computer Science and IT has the biggest scope for jobs. Though, if you are an electronics , ECE engineer, you can also secure excellent jobs. Mech and Civil engineers are of d least importance to IT companies which are actually the major employees for engineers.
But a few companies would definately come who wouldn't mind what department u are un but would seek skills and who so ever would prove to be worthy enough for their job profile, would be recruited right away.
Honestly, it is your college and its reputation that actually matters for reputed companies only visit few colleges and in a college, most of the companies that visit for recruitment are average companies.
Hope it helps.
