Well,both the universities are with the same set of standards in terms of faculty,infrastructure,academics but the academical pressure on students is bit of high.But whatever maybe the situations in campus one must be well trained technically in whatever the branch you select because ultimately it aids you in getting placed into the best company you are aiming for.

I think calcCalc University is better than Kalyani for btech.
Calcutta University has started 4 years B.tech course since 2015(through WBJEE). The world rankings of engineering schools did not list it in the top 300 in 2016. Calcutta made a big jump in 2014 from 700 up to 650 in rankings in 2014. Calcutta U. was number 10 in India in 2015.
