Hello, I hope you are doing well
Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery(BAMS), is an undergraduate degree program in Ayurvedic studies. The course duration is 5.5 years along with the internships. After doing BAMS, you have a chance to get a government job through GPSC or the common choice is to become a doctor in a private or government hospital.
The amount of research being done in ayurvedic field is quite good and many of the BAMS graduates get a chance to work in those teams, some as consultants and some at even high profiles. So, the monetary factor is not an issue for BAMS Graduates. But, you can only expect those big numbers after some experience, you cannot expect that you will get a very good output just after graduating.
Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery(BHMS), is an academic degree course with a duration of 4-5 years with some internships period of 1 year. After the completion of course you could start your own clinic or look for job opportunities in various government and private research institutes, because again BAMS and BHMS both are research oriented graduation programs. So, only if you have decent knowledge you could get some good job offers.
BAMS has slight edge over BHMS where you could sit for some government job exams, BHMS graduates most of the times focus on teaching in colleges and other institutes.
Hope this helps.
See the job opening for BAMS is higher where as if you want to practice medicine then BHMS is a better choice. So its all dependent on what you achieve. I would recommend you to go for the course of your choice which you are really interested in. There are numerous ayurvedic companies such as Patanjali, LHC, Baidyanath etc take BAMS students for R&D purposes. So there are job in BAMS and if you go for the BHMS then you will get a good scope in treating patients and practicing as a Homeopathic Consultant Physician.
