IITs and nits are the best government colleges in India. IIT Madras, Kanpur, Bombay, Kharagpur,etc are the best IITs available. You can get admission in IIT by giving jee advanced entrance exam. After IITs  nits are considered as best government colleges. Nit Rourkela, nit Surat are the best colleges. You can also try for admission in DTU. You can try some State gov colleges like Jadavpur in Bengal etc. 

In nits and iits not all colleges are same so please first go to there ranking don't blindly believe in gov colleges like some private colleges are far better than some nits so first check the ranking.
