Which is better information technology or computer science
Dear aspirant, your question can be summarized under the given below points -
- Though an IT and computer science degree can both prepare you for jobs in the tech field, they often appeal to different types of people based on the slightly varied skill sets. Computer science involves more independent work creating computer programs and applications, using algorithms and writing code. On the other hand, IT professionals focus more on using technology to support business goals while frequently interacting with others to help solve tech issues either over the phone, in person or via email.
- Personality-wise, those more suited to independent work behind a desk may find themselves drawn to computer science while those who enjoy hands-on work assisting others may find more fulfillment in IT.
- IT is a specialization of CS just like Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering.
- The specialized streamhas value only in postgraduate.
- IT gets you job only in IT industry. But IT industry doesn’t need IT engineers. They just need a graduates who handles pressure. That’s why they are recruiting students from CSE, ECE, EEE, Mechanical and even Chemical Engineering. This is specially the case in our country.
- IT don’t even guarantee job even in IT industry. And IT engineers can’t apply for Govt. jobs unlike CS or other engineers.
- CS is much more general course and offers plenty of job opportunities than IT.
All the best
Hope this helps
hi,
see both of the stream deals with computer programing and computer networks. however in information technology the hardware studies portion is less compare to computer science engineering. some subjects like digital electronics, embedded system, analog is not included in information technology syllabus. in future if you want to go for research oriented field of engineering you should take computer science. if job is the only important thing to you you can select either of them, as both of the stream is demanding in job field.
