Dear Student,

Both the NIT's re good for Mechanical in terms of infrastructure and Academics. In terms of Placements NIT Silchar is good as they have a good placement record and Median Salary package is 6.27 lakhs and the highest package is 20 lakhs.

B.Tech Mechanical Engineering in NIT Silchar has lower fees and higher NIRF rank.

So, You can opt for NIT Silchar.

You can use college comparison tool to see the difference for yourself also using the below link-

Hope it Helps!

hello,

NIT silchar and jalandhar is somewhat same. It does not create a lot of diference. You can choose whichever nit you want because they are same in all aspacts like in placements, campus, package etc. Since they both are similar may be the place factor you want to opt. If you are looking for a good place to visit then you can opt for jalandhar as this place has lots of manufacturing units where mechanical and electrical scopes are higher than Silchar

hope this will help you

all the best!!

Dear student,
What makes a college better is its placements, so let's take a look at the placements of both these colleges:
In nit silchar approximately 70-75% of students got placed inmechanicalengineering as per last year. The highest salary package offered was 21 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 2.75 LPA, and the average package offered was 5.5 LPA.
Now coming to nit jalandhar. 100% students were placed from mechanical engineering branch. The highest package was 11.5 Lacs pa, the lowest package was 3.56 Lacs pa, average package formechanicalengineering branch was 5.57 Lacs pa. Top recruiting companies are Honda, TATA.
Both of these colleges are great, while nit jalandhar had greater number of students placed and nit silchar had greater highest package.
