Iit kharagpur biotechnology is a better option. In now a days market metallurgy has very little demand. Biotechnology in India is getting popular day by day and technologies are increasing. So biotechnology and biochemical engineering is getting popular demand as biology is blended with engineering.
Dear aspirant,
Biotech is a very core subject and doesn't have much oppertunity in our country. But with a growing population, anything remotely related to biology will bein demand as a result talking for a futuristic point of view, this field will soon be in demand. Also Kharagpur IIT is a prestegious institute amongst other IITs known thus selecting a course seat in that IIT won't dissapoint you. But be ready to compromise in job availability after finishing B.TECH as job prospects in core fields are pretty scarce in india.
In case jobs are you priority after graduating, choosing metallurgy would be the smarter choice.
