Yes, you can pursue BCA course even if you didn't have computer subject in class 12 because the eligibility criteria for BCA course mentions that Candidates must be passed or appearing class 12 in any stream with English 50 percent marks aggregate from a recognized board. Both the courses are amazing on its own. So it depends on your interest like if you are interested in construction of buildings,dams,etc., then Civil Engineering is best for you. However if you are more interested in studying new technologies, programming, computer related stuffs,etc, then BCA is more suitable for you. And Yes, a student with no background knowledge of computers can start BCA course too. The eligibility criteria for BCA suggests that students should have passed class 12 successfully from a recognized institute. Sometimes they put on restrictions on % and the subjects studied in class 12.
