Hello,

After qualifying a PCSJ exam you will become magistrate first class then you can give exams for additional session judge at age of 35. So the stages are as follows

  1. First Civil Judge Junior Division/ Judicial Magistrate
  2. then Civil Judge senior Division (Sub Judge)/ Additional Chief judicial Magistrate
  3. then Chief Judicial Magistrate
  4. Additional District Judge(ADJ)
  5. District Judge
  6. Next stage is Registrar Of High Court
  7. High Court judge

Every stage minimum five years service is required before promotion.

If you have good political nexus then only you have a chance to become HC judge but during this journey most of them retire early before being elevated to HC judge.

Hope this helps.
