Both are core fields and selection depends on your interest

Mechanical Branch is evergreen, you will gather some knowledge of most of the fields around you, requires experience to increase your salary prospects

Electrical branch is suitable if you are interested in electrical circuits and related science where you don't have to move in your job as mechanical jobs.

Both are equally good.

Choose the one which you like as that will be your future.

Hello Mainak!

Both the fields are equally good, if you have interest in it. But if you prefer a job where you'd rather sit comfortably at one place and work, Electrical is a good option. For Mechanical, you'd have to do a lot of work outside as well. But I'd advice you to follow your passion, that would lead you to your good job ultimately.

Hope that helps.

Cheers!

If you have really an interest in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering than you should go for them. Both have good job opportunities and you will get mostly jobs in government sector after pursuing both. So, scope wise, both are nearly same. In mechanical, you may get one or two more companies which are private.

These two are core fields and there is very much competition for these fields. So you have to study hard and from a good college, then only you will get a job otherwise you have to pursue higher studies.

Dear Mainak

As per your query,  both do have good future. And also if you want to get a good job you need to work so hard be through sigh all the core topics.  And if you want the best future try to take gate test and secure a rank in that...so that you can persue mtech in nits/iits

This will be good.  But if you really need of job and in BTECH 4th year you want job then join cse/ece. Those options will be good.

All the best.

Both of them are really great, Core job opportunities are on growth track with Make Jn India policy.

However, Electronic Engineering has broader scope and Opportunities into sectors like Technology, Telecom, Mining, IT.

Mechanical engineering is more refined towards E-commerce and Manufacturing sector.

Overall, both have very good salary prospects in India and Abroad, if done from top IIts and NITs.

Electronic Engineering graduate can also take up jobs in manufacturing domain which is a big advantage.

Both have very Industrial specific curriculum and requires training .
