Let's say from Karnataka 50,000 Candidates appeared for NEET. And out of that 15,000 Candidates belong to SC Category. And 12,000 Candidates qualified in NEET exam. Now to allot State rank, the scores of all these 50,000 Candidates are considered along with their NEET score and tie breaking conditions. And the ranks are allotted from 1-50,000. Now to allot the rank for the 15,000 SC Category Candidates, their NEET score and tie breaking coonditions alone are considered. For example, a Candidate with a State rank of 1000 can become a Category rank holder of 10. It is because out of those 50,000 only 15,000 belong to a specific Category and we are creating a separate rank for these Candidates.
Hello dear student,
Marks and category both are the important things but if a general category student obtain a good amount of marks so they become eligible to get seat into a particular college according to the cutoff of the college while if the student obtained lesser marks in comparison to the cutoff marks of the college then the student will not be considered.
So at the time of counselling the cut off list are released by the college and students coming into the The criterias will get admission into the college so the student which belong from particular category like ST SC or OBC they fall into a different criteria and the reserve seat are already there for them at lower marks range than that of general category student.
Thank you
