Who are considered as hornadu kannadiga
Candidates who are residing outside of Karnataka are called Hornadu kannadiga. KEA entrance exam has a special Kannada paper which you must qualify in order to get govt college seats.
Here are the steps that needs to be taken to prove your kannada origin:-
- Candidates should score a minimum of 15 out of 40 marks in the Kannada test conducted by KEA.

- The candidate and either of his/her parent’s mother tongue should be Kannada, Tulu or Kodava, and either of the parents’ should have been a domicile in the state of Karnataka at least for 7 years.

- Documents that need to be produced
- SSLC/class 10 and 2nd PUC/class 12 marks card of the candidate, along with a domicile certificate issued by the concerned revenue or municipal authorities certifying that the candidate and his/her parents are residing outside the state of Karnataka.
- The place of the issuing authority should correspond to the place of the domicile of the candidate/parent.
- Candidates’ transfer certificate, anyone parent’s 10th standard marks card/ original cumulative record in original in support of the mother tongue as Kannada, Tulu or Kodava and a duly sworn declaration regarding mother tongue of the candidates must also be produced.
