Why kinetic energy depends upon frequency of light in photo electric effect?
Hey!
In the photoelectric effect , light incident on the surface of a metal causes electrons to be ejected. ... The classical expectation of the photoelectric effect was that the number of emitted electrons would depend upon the frequency , and their kinetic energy should depend upon the intensity of the light wave.

Hello!
The energy of light depend on frequency of photon (particle behaviour of light)so when it hit the metal in photo electric effect one photon gives their energy to only one electron .electron get this energy and comes out from metal .the rest energy of photon change into kinetic energy of electron .so kinectic energy depends on frequency..
Intensity means number of photon coming irrespective of frequency used .
