Admission in B.Tech is done in two ways -

• 75% of admission is done through JEE Main Results.
• 25% of admission is done through an exam conducted by the department

Further for  B. Tech. courses 50% of the total seats in each department are reserved for the students of the Northeastern region. The Northeastern region is comprised of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.

It depends whether the classes have started or not . It also depends on the year in which you are stuyding ,based on that the percentage of amount to be refunded will be decided.

The admission withdrawal and its refund policies will differ with each college or university. So to know about it you should either visit their official website and go through their admission fee refund policies and other guidlines or visit their administrative office directly for better assistance. Usually in colleges there will be a stipulated date or time period within which you have to withdraw the admission in order to get the fee back . Likewise the percentage of money refunded may also vary depending on the college and course. There might a small deduction from the refund amount in the name of administrative charges . So it is better to approach them directly regarding this . As per the rule put forth by UGC ,cancellation of admission in a college after 30 days from date of commencement has no refund. If cancellation of admission is done before commencement of the course, then the entire fee should be refunded with a minimal deduction of 1000 rupees.

The university is spread over an area of 600 acres offering various academic and infrastructural facilities to the students including hostels, library, healthcare, computer center, gym, transport, labs, sports etc.

The university currently offers about 4500 seats including postgraduate and other integrated programmes and 1500 seats to doctoral programmes.

Assam University is one of the oldest college which was established on the year 1994. They have good NIRF ranking. The overall ratings is good. Placement records are not consistent.

This college is not the best option but still it is not a bad option. If you could have a better option go for it. If you are left with nothing then go for Assam University.

What decides the ranking of a college is primarily its placements. Overall, the placements are average of about  50 to 60% . Companies like, Nestle and Patanjali came to the university, many students go for higher studies and pursue m tech for better placements.

Placement are just average in this university. They have only 6 companies recruiting.

University rating is 7.5/10

Fee per year is 59,375

Fee for 4 years is 2,37,500

Placement are quite good with 29 companies recruiting this university.

I suggest you to choose Assam University because this is better than Tezpur University in academics and placements

Assam university is not have that great overall ratings. Placement are of average level and highly inconsistent to predict average placement records. Packages offered are in  range between 3-7lakhs per annum. Infrastructure is of average level and this college has better teaching faculties. Guru Gasidas have better ratings . They have poor placement records , highly inconsistent. Highest package offered is 12lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 2.5 Lakhs per annum and average package offered is around 5lakhs per annum. Infrastructure is not that great but they have better teaching faculty than Assam University.

GURU Gasidas is better among the comparison between Assam University and Guru Gasidas.

Would like to have the expansion of smvu and gkw.
