24 MonthsBioinformatics is an interdisciplinary research area that interfaces biological and computational sciences. The ultimate goal of bioinformatics is to uncover the wealth of biological information hidden in the mass of data and obtain insights into the fundamental biology of organisms. This can have profound impacts on fields as varied as human health, agriculture, environmental sciences and many more. Bioinformatics involves integrative approach that is inclusive of computational, mathematical and statistical methods. This programme imparts specialized skills to the student in this competitive and interdisciplinary area to meet the demand for such professionals in the global arena, both in the academia as well as industrial /government R&D institutions.
A Bachelor's degree in any branch of Life Sciences / Technology (Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Agriculture, Computer Science, Bioinformatics or equivalent) or Health / Medical Sciences (Medicine, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health Sciences, Veterinary or equivalent) from any recognized Indian or Foreign University. Students with B. Sc. degree in Physical and Chemical Sciences, are also eligible to apply if biology is taken as one of the subjects at +2 level.
Admission will be based on merit and personal interview.
