Establishment of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University (HNBUMU) a state university standing at Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The admission undergoes an annual cycle that generally starts in May-June and runs up to the time of classes starting in August-September. The university accepts admission as required through different national-level entrance examinations, depending on the program applied for. Application Process

HNBUMU application procedure varies somewhat with the whimsical whims of the programs:

For MBBS programs:

  1. Qualify the NEET-UG examination.
  2. Register accordingly for either state level or all India counseling.
  3. Fill the counseling registration form and pay the required fees.
  4. Upload the required documents which include the NEET score card, 10+2 Marksheet, and other certificates.
  5. Choose HNBUMU and courses of preference during the counseling.
  6. Report to the allotted college for document verification and fee deposition in case of a seat allotment.

For MD/MS Programs:

  1. Qualify the NEET-PG examination.
  2. Register accordingly for either state level or all-India counseling.
  3. Fill the counseling registration form and pay the required fees.
  4. Upload the required documents which include the NEET-PG scorecard, MBBS degree, internship completion certificate, and any other relevant certificates.
  5. Choose HNBUMU and preferred courses during the counseling.
  6. Report to the allotted college for document verification and fee deposition in case of a seat allotment.

For other programs (B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc Nursing, BPT, MPT):

  1. Visit the official HNBUMU website and check for program-specific application announcements.
  2. Fill out the online application form for the desired program.
  3. Pay the application fee as specified.
  4. Upload required documents, including academic certificates, photographs, and identity proof.
  5. Submit the completed application form.
  6. Appear for entrance examinations if applicable.
  7. Attend counseling or interview rounds if shortlisted.

The selection process would generally be based on merit as per the ranking in the entrance examination followed by counseling rounds for allocation of seats. Some programs might additionally have their individual selection criteria or an interview for final selection.

Degree-wise Admission Process

MBBS: Admission to the MBBS program at HNBUMU is based on NEET-UG scores. The university offers 400 MBBS seats across its affiliated colleges. Candidates must qualify NEET-UG and participate in the counseling process for seat allocation.

MD/MS: HNBUMU offers various postgraduate medical programs, including MD and MS courses. Admissions are based on NEET-PG scores. The university provides specializations such as MD Microbiology, MD Pharmacology, MD Physiology, MD Community Medicine, MD Anatomy, MD Anaesthesiology, MD Biochemistry, MD Pathology, MS Otorhinolaryngology, MS General Surgery, MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MD General Medicine, MS Orthopedics, MS Ophthalmology, and MD Forensic Medicine.

B.Sc Nursing: The university offers B.Sc Nursing programs with an intake of 200 seats. Admission is usually on the basis of 10+2 scores in relevant subjects and may have a separate entrance examination or merit selection.

M.Sc Nursing: HNBUMU provides M.Sc Nursing programs in various specializations. Admission is usually on the basis of the candidate's performance in the B.Sc Nursing degree with or without an entrance test conducted by the university.

BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy): The university offers BPT programs. Admission is generally on the basis of 10+2 science subjects and may have a separate entrance examination.

MPT (Master of Physiotherapy): HNBUMU provides MPT programs in specializations such as Orthopedics, Neurology, Cardiology, and Sports. Admission is typically based on the candidate's performance in the BPT degree and may include an entrance test.
