It is great to see that young people like you wish to flourish in the fields of law. 

The question that you have asked is regarding the B.A. L.LB course offered in Himachal Pradesh National Law University which provide for a 5 year course (10 Semesters).

The One time Admisiion Fee woulf constitute for around Rs.20000.

Further the first semester fees would amount to around Rs. 1,56,000 ( Inclusive of the hostel)

The hostel charges are as follows:

  • Residence Charges : Rs.20000
  • Mess Deposit : Rs. 3000
  • Advance Mess Deposit : 20000 (for 10 months)
  •  In this the Refundable one time amount will include Rs.5000 which is deposited as security to the authorities.

The second Semester  fees  shall Include a deposit of around Rs. 64000

 So , a total a Rs, 2,20,500 has to be paid which shall include the hostel fees , the examination fees, one time refundable charges and also the facility fees.


 The fees without hostel would amount to around Rs. 1,77,500. 

 There are further important notes that have to be kept in mind by the aspiring student :

 The date for the declaration of the result shall stand on 2nd June of 2019 .

Immediately after that the couselling sessions shall begin allotting the colleges according to the ranks secured by the students.  The Couselling shall go upto 4 sessions and will depend on the availability of the seats in the particular colleges. 

Eligbility Criteria

B.A. /B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Five Year Integrated Course

Educational Qualification:

For Under-Graduate Programme [B.A./B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Five Year Integrated Course]:

Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of:

50% markshave to be secured by the candiates of genaral category/OBC/specially disabled person andany other categories.

45% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST Categories. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination in March/April, 2018 are also eligible to apply. Applicants who have obtained 10+2 through Open School/Universities system directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible for the Law Course.

Based on the information available in your profile we consider that you are seeking admission to Under Graduate course. Last year a candidate with rank 12205 secured admission to BA LLB in HNLU, Shimla. Based on the previous year cut off you have decent chances of getting seat in HNLU, Shimla in BA LLB. However, cut off is subjected to change, it may increase or decrease depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

You have to quickly apply for Vacant Seats since notifications for vacant seats are already out to my knowledge notification for DSNLU till 4000 rank for general category is out and for HPNLU also you stand a good chance. Keep an eye on the notification for vacant lists. These are issued by respective nlu on their websites only and you will have to fill certain form and the post them in some cases.

Last year there were candidates ranging between 2000-3000 who appeared for hpnlu. Based on last year the range is expected to be similar or little higher this year for hpnlu2018.

HPNLU started HPNET 2018 admission process with the release of HPNET Application Form on January 22, 2018. The candidates who wish to seek admission in the undergraduate and postgraduate law programme need to register themselves for HPNLET. After the registration and filling up the Application Form of HPNET 2018, the candidates were provided with the admit card of HPNET 2018 on May 1, 2018. The candidates appeared for HPNET 2018 on May 20 and on June 2, 2018, the candidates will be provided with their result and merit list. The candidates who meet the cutoff of HPNLET will be called for the counselling of HPNET 2018. The HPNET admission process 2018 ends with seat allotment of candidates in their respective law programmes.

Congratulations on your rank and score this year the expected cut off is high as the level of difficulty of paper was low so now as pee your score you do have slight chances but you have to wait till 2nd list Nd hope for the best and even in the worst case we do have vacancies after 3rd list in some of the colleges so you can apply for that as well. As himachal pradesh national law university is in its initial phase so the infrastructure is not so good but the library is in its best condition and internet is provided to both college and hostels and there are also the smart classrooms. The food is also hygienic.
