Our perception of gender, gender norms and gender roles is defined by patriarchy to a great extent. We understand and perceive gender hinges on society's patriarchal construction, and it is therefore highly flawed. There is a need to deconstruct the patriarchal understanding of society and take up gender issues with greater enthusiasm. The Gender Sensitisation: Society, Culture and Change programme discusses these topics.
Candidates who enrol for the Gender Sensitisation: Society, Culture and Change diploma can earn up to eight credits of the undergraduate level. The Indira Gandhi National Open University has created this online diploma in the Humanities and Social Sciences domain.
