Course Overview

The Media, Information and Empowerment programme discusses the interplay between media and information and key areas of the Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs] of the United Nations such as health, gender equality, education, human rights and climate change. In addition, the next decade is planned as a ‘decade of action’, exploring the institutional and individual perspective of their contribution and engagement in the growth process.

This Media, Information and Empowerment programme will aim to illustrate three dimensions over a span of 12 weeks, which are; the development processes social role of media and information and interconnections between media and core SDGs.

This programme expects candidates to become acquainted with the communication aspects of SDG objectives and in turn, to integrate learning from this programme into their professional practises in mass media or extension and outstretch activities or needs for training and study.
