The Web Content Management programme by Swayam is a postgraduate, elective course for the Master of the Library and Information Sciences (MLIS). The course aims to develop the basics of content development, teach the usage of tools for e-publication, virtual reality, and content development. It also talks about CMS applications Drupal and Joomla, and the e-learning platform Moodle.
The Web Content Management online course curriculum includes topics such as web hosting, managing multimedia content, screencasting tools and techniques, introduction to Moodle, and more. Prof Uma Kanjilal will deliver the course. She has more than 30 years of teaching experience in IGNOU and was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, USA.
However, if you wish to acquire the certificate, you will have to take certification exams for which you have to register separately on Swayam’s official website. The course will continue over a period of 12 weeks.

To be eligible for the Web Content Management certification, you are required to score a minimum of 30 percent in your assignments and 70 percent in your term-end examination. Also, to pass the exam, you must secure a minimum of 40 percent marks.

Swayam conducts an examination at the end of the Web Content Management course to enable students to earn the course certificate. Students must score a minimum of 30 percent in the assignments, and 70 percent in the end-term proctored exam to be eligible for the Content Development certification. Also, learners must separately register for the examination, as and when the form is available on the website.
Swayam will display the details regarding the certification exam on the official website in due course. Students can register separately for the exam.
To pass the certification exam, you will have to score 30 percent, and 70 percent in your assignments and end-term proctored exam respectively. Forty percent is the passing percentage for both the individual components.
