Hyy pratyush,
One of my friend is in NLU Assam, I'll tell you his experience
Definitely NLU Assam is not that good as far as academics and placements are concerned our Univeraity is not like old nlus like NLSIU and NALSAR, but it is a university where you will find the best minds , best musicians , dancers , actors and what not …..the students of NLU assam are definitely among the most underprivileged students because they were not given proper campus facilities, sports facilities and faculty but that doesnot make them underconfident and distressed …. We had been celebrating almost each hurdles which we have faced ……we believe in oneness and proved that on several ocassions …… we had been active into cultural and literary activities and our students are always keen in doing something which is not mainstream ….. Because i am a final year student i have a different perspective about the university which is having emotional aspects too ……. You will definitely find your own types in the campus , if you are a music freak there are people who will make you feel all different colour of music, if you love poetry , you will meet the loving shayars , writers, gajalkars etc….. there are people who love adventure and love taking risks …..if you are into that cloudy world of ‘ smoke’ and ‘divine water’ you will get your guys easily ……
And most importantly you can enjoy the shadow of mountains and cool breezes of Brahmaputra at the new campus ……
Now it's upto you whether you want to go there or not,
If further doubts, do comment
I hope this helps
Hi piyush,
VIPS college is 3rd positioned college of IP university whereas NLU assam is the lowest college if we see in accordance to the clat exam. What i think is you should go with the NLU as it is NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY and if it is convienient and nearest to your hometown, as this the major cause students think over it. Both are best in their ways, but national universities are different.
Thank you.
Hyy piyush,
Please do NOT join the lower ranked NLUs (anything after GNLU/HNLU).
It’s better to join a good law college in Delhi or Mumbai (or even Bangalore and Pune) than study in the lower ranked NLUs.
The reason is simple and two-fold. One, in a city like Delhi or Mumbai you’d have something good (a conference, workshop, or a talk etc.) happening nearly every weekend. Attending these would help you improve your knowledge/skills, develop your overall personality/self, and build your contacts.
Also, because you’d have a good number of quality organizations (NGOs, law firms, lawyer offices, etc.) based in these cities, you can easily opt for after-college hours internships which will again build your skills/knowledge and your contacts.
The above will translate into more avenues for all-round development and gaining ’employ-ability mileage’ (skills, experiences, networking, etc.)
The situation at the bottom NLUs is bad on nearly all fronts (except for the fact that your peer group will be smart and hard-working).
Hi Agnibesh,
Our college predictors always try to show the right results if you have provided the right information and if you see you have a high chance then surely you can go ahead.

The cutoff varies year to year. Based on your score the chances seems to be less. I would suggest you to use CLAT UG College predictor tool to know your best chances.

Good Luck!
Best infrastructure with modern equipments. I would request aspirants not to go according to old article and make a prejudice against NLU Assam. They are all 2014 articles amd post. From 2014 to 2020 NLUA has risen and now standing among top law institutions.
One of the best campuses in India. NLU Assam has two big buildings and a separate building for library. Classes are air conditioned, spacious with a podium and all digital equipments fixed like smart boards . There is a sports complex under construction as of now. WiFi in the campus and hostels. Very well maintained. Living spaces are clean, however the quality of hostel food is low. Nonetheless, food is edible and there are shops nearby.
