I was a student of ouat, all the infrastructure in our college is perfect, we have laboratories for respective departments. Lecture Halls are excellent with 100 seated gallery system, Air conditioner and smart board. Ouat library is outstanding and it also has e library along with free wifi.As per the hygiene it need improvement.
I'm student of ug have interest in agriculture and allied sector. I want to work on this after completion of my graduation. Want to be an entrepreneur in future.also wants to develop this field and improve rural life.
Have high rate of placement started from 5-12 lakhs package. Our college word very coordinately with different organization to get maximum chance of placement to student.it is very much helpfull to student to get job.
The college infrastructure was average but it was located in a safe and convenient area which is close to all daily requirements. Classroom were big enough but they didn't have enough rooms for other facilities.
Teaching faculties were good. Their way of teaching and the resources were enough for the studies. They also have library for who wants to have more knowledge. The curriculum was not too overwhelming but it was easy to cope up with.
There were no placements opportunities as majority of students prepare for government exam so college doesn't give the opportunities of placement. They don't even train you to develope any skills which can help you for off-campus placements.
I will say it is average because it doesn't have much fees because it is a government institute but also it's just provides degree without any placement. So if just for a degree you can say its value for money.
I had a good campus life there. They celebrate festival which is eventually a student activity so it was all fun. All the faculties and staff were cooperative society it was a hassle-free journey. During competition you will get different opportunities to show ur skill in different area so all in all it was nice.
It has all the necessary infrastructure required to study well. Facilities are provided. Equipments are supplied. Labs are updated with latest technology. Class rooms are air conditioned, with smart boards installed. Wifi is there in college.
Faculty is good. I'm satisfied with the way they teach us the concepts and are always ready to clear our doubts. The curriculum is regulated by ICAR and yes, it makes us job ready. It is a great place to learn and study.
Highest was 6 LPa and average being 4-5 LPA. Most students prepare for Govt exams so after you get AAO, you earn approx 70k per month. Many of our seniors are appointed as officers in OAS, OPS and AFO, etc.
There are 2 kinds of seats l, general and cost sharing. For general it is, 18k per year. And for Cost sharing it is 80k. Yes, I believe I got my money's worth as private colleges charge much more to give such facilities.
Great. I love the campus Life here. Though it is a small place with less student's still we have our fests and functions and we enjoy a lot. The clubs organises various events like Literary, Dramatics and Athletic and students have fun.
I would always recommend this college to everyone who asks me.
The infrastructure is average but still the facilities provided are great. Sufficient for the students to go about the completion of their course. The college has a Central Library where students can sit and study. It encompasses books on nearly every Agricultural subject. It has a gym, a sports centre and the hostels have wifi and a gym too. Washing machine is provided and the hostel rooms are comfortable.
I studied BSc. Community Science which deals with Human Nutrition, Family planning, Child development and Textile. Other subjects included Extension, Horticulture, Human Physics and these subjects kept on changing in all the 8 semesters. The students who studied Community science mostly worked as a Dietician or Nutritionist in hospitals.
Placements are not that great as students mostly prepare for Govt exams in OUAT but other courses offered packages upto 6LPA. Several of my seniors are working as a Nutritionist in private forms though, where they earn 20k per month. But if you join KVKs as a Nutritionist, you get approximate 70k-80k per month..
The course fee was 16,000 INR per year which is reasonably less when compared to other courses. Yes, the money is worth the subject as they teachers are very supportive, encouraging and are always ready to help.
Organises a lot of functions. So, yes you will be enjoying a lot here .There are like 7 to 8 functions or more per year happening in different colleges. Be it Veterinary, Agricultur, Forestry or Community Science.
Great place to study. I would recommend this college.
Our college do have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments. Even if some equipments are there in our college which are not even there in other agricultural colleges of Odisha. There are smart boards with all the halls air-conditioned. There is a big library where u can find almost all types of books dealing with agriculture and allied courses. Hostels are nearby for convenience. The living spaces are regularly cleaned and food is totally hygienic of the hostels.
I am studying Bsc Agriculture (hons) which is a professional course and provides you with a vast list of job opportunities in various sectors. The quality of teaching over here is great due to some finest teachers with more than 20+ yrs experience. The curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field. This course could fetch you a job not only in Agriculture field, but also in banks and administrative services.
The placements from our college is quite good. This year only 70+ students from our college were selected in Opsc. The Percentage of students placed were quite high. The salary depends on the kind of job you choose and prepare for it.
There are 4 different types of seats here. The free seats, cost sharing, the reserved seats and the seats for students qualifying Icar exam. Depending on your marks in the ouat entrance exam and your eligibility, you will get either of the seats and your course cost per year will depend upon that ranging from 10,000 to 3,00,000. Yes, I do feel it is worth of the money.
The campus life is excellent here. You would get chance to indulge in numerous co curricular activities which will increase both of your confidence and friend circle. We have numerous functions over here starting from dramatics, annual function, literary functions, melody nights and many more which is just like sparks to the busy schedule of life. Ouat is doing very good in athletics too and focuses both in outdoor and indoor games. The students, and teachers create a family like environment.
The college for me is too good with good infrastructure, great teachers, one of the best library and above all it provides you with a congenial environment for different competitions and to progress ahead.
The college is spacious but is under construction currently. Overall the practical labs have all the equipments but some of them are non functional. The girls hostel is in a good condition to be said, food quality is better than other government hostels. The library is the best one. Sports complex is quite spacious with two badminton courts a table tennis court and a gym. The playground is huge with a gallery. All the lecture halls are equipped with air conditioners and smart boards.
I am pursuing B.Sc(Hons)Ag and the quality of teaching is here is actually great. Unlike other government colleges here the professors eagerly take lectures and are always there to help the students when needed. It's a congenial environment here if you want to prepare for any kind of civil services.
Direct placements are rare in agriculture courses but if you study averagely with a clear understanding of the subjects then you can clear various competitives. If you go for higher studies and complete your PhD you can apply for a professor post in the college itself.
Of course as compared to other government colleges the college is necessarily pricey.
There are events and fests going on in this college literally every month. Yearly fests of athletics, dramatics and literary is a must and along with it many more events keep going on here. Career counselling and many more seminars are always being conducted.
Be prepared for a roller coaster ride of emotions in you enroll in this college !
The infrastructure is well equipped to provide students a congenial environment in the University. The classrooms are air-conditioned with the provision of Smart boards where Professors teach with the help of diagrams, illustrations and videos. There is a gymnasium, Basket ball court, indoor Badminton court, Table tennis court and a large field catering to the interests of the students. Wifi is there in college and lecture halls are clean.
I m studying BSc Hons Agriculture in order to bring a change in the quality of lives of farmers and in the agricultural economy. The curriculum is decided by ICAR keeping in view the best interests of the students. Our University is mostly known for preparing students for Public sector jobs like AAO, AHO, ASCO and also OPSC OCS/ UPSC CSE.
The University has been known for preparing students for various Public sector jobs. As per NIRF report 2021, a total of 179 UG and PG students were placed during OUAT placement 2020. The median package offered to UG (4-year) and PG (2-year) students was INR 3.50 LPA and INR 4.80 LPA during placement 2020, respectively.
There are two kind of seats. Cost sharing and General seats. My total course fee is 18,000 INR for General seat per year. However, for Cost sharing seats cost more and takes approximately Rs.80000 per year. In the time of admission - General seat- Rs.54000, CS seat - Rs. 54000+60,000. With this much fees, which is quite less than the private colleges, we are getting ample of opportunities and exposure. The Professors are encouraging and always ready to help.
Campus Life is great. There are many events that keep happening through the year to provide students with the right amount of exposure. There is Literary society, Athletic society and Dramatics society which is very active in college. Athletics, Dramatics and Literary events goes on for 3 days each followed by an Annual event. The college in situated inside the city with almost all the amenities in proximity. The college can handle emergencies as the staff is very well equipped.
I feel lucky to be a part of this wonderful college.
Good infrastructure. Well equipped with equipment and lab instruments . Space is clean . Food quality is awesome. Wifi facility is present in hostels. Class rooms have projectors . Seminar are organised regularly.
We study here plant breeding methods, development of new and varieties and concepts of genetics. Teaching quality is good . Yes it makes us quite job ready. Updated information is given regularly. Academics sessions are good.
Placement occurs either at private enterprises or in government. One can opt for higher studies. Research lines are full of scope. Salery depend upon the job. Placement procedure is moderate. College is supportive.
Course fee is less. Fee may be within 30000rupees. Scholarship are plentily available. It's really worth the money. We get exposed to too many experiment s and equipment s . Msc. Is completed within stipulated time period.
Awesome campus life. Safe for all. Easy access to market. Location is the best thing about the college. Hostel has wifi facility. Food of good quality is provided . Good medical facilities is present near by.
Its can be better if building are remodelled..And all classrooms to well digitalised and well ventilated.with additional of canteen bccoz it will be better for dayscholar student and there should be smart e library in each department.
Very good. But it can be better if all things to practically performed in front of student and so that it can easily gasped in mind and more exposure to all delegates icar Institute and their functioning so student can get well know to it from the grass root level.
Placement are good but nit so often and they are nit that much well packagrd as per requirements of students so there should be separate councillor board for the place ment so that student requirements to be fulfilled.
Course structure is bit more expensive as it a govt but yet autonomous college ..much mote hiking in price.covid situation is not at all reduced the fee structure. If charging too much till they are not properly utilising the money.
Campus life is good.pg hostel are fully located at the heart of city.get used to all available stuffs..loots pf interactive campus too good for hostel.hostel life is best. Hostel 3 is an emotion and m.missing ot deadly.
Overall its best in term of teaching,Though it can be better..but still the best.prctice makes the man perfect.if all error to be rectify then it will be the lead college.Lots of variety are established undernthis college.
Yes, the college has a good infrastructure. It is well equipped with all the required instruments though some of it are not be in the working condition. The living space is clean and food is healthy and hygienic.
I have done my graduation in the field of agriculture. The quality of teaching good but it does not include much field exposure and lacks updated information. To some extend we get job ready. but we get exposed to deep insight of knowledge.
average quality of placement. students after bsc in agriculture prefer more for higher studies and get placed as scientists , researchers, professors and extension workers. the college is very supportive and the placement process is moderately easy.
yes it is value for money. course fee is within rupees 30000. yes we get money's worth as in such low cost one can go for graduation and join as Assistant Agriculture Officer and other related government jobs.
campus life is awesome with minimum restrictions and far too safe for girls. the staff is supportive and location is the best thing about the college in the centre of the capital of the state. yes it can handle emergencies.
Hy,
With a rank of 53,85 in the OUAT 2024 entrance exam, you may have some chances of securing admission in the B.Sc. Agriculture program, although it may depend on a few factors including the specific category you fall under (General, SC, ST, etc.) and the availability of seats during the counseling process.
OUAT considers a combination of entrance exam scores and previous academic performance (10th and 12th grades) for admissions. The cutoff ranks can vary each year based on several factors including the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the overall performance of candidates. In past years, candidates with higher ranks (like yours) have been able to secure admission, especially in less sought-after branches or in seats that are cost-sharing.
To improve your chances, you should participate actively in the counseling process, monitor the merit list closely, and be prepared to accept any available seats during the counseling sessions. It's also advisable to stay informed about the closing ranks for the branches you are interested in, as this will give you a clearer idea of your prospects.
Hy,
With a rank of 5385 in the OUAT (Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology) entrance exam for 2024, your chances of securing a seat in any branch depend on the specific cutoffs for each course and category.
Based on previous trends, the closing ranks for various programs at OUAT can vary significantly. For instance, in 2024, some branches like B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and related fields have closing ranks that can be quite competitive. Generally, seats in popular courses fill up quickly, especially in the first few rounds of counseling.
Given your rank, it may be challenging to secure admission in high-demand programs like Veterinary Science or certain branches of Agriculture, but you might still have a chance in less sought-after programs or in later rounds of counseling as candidates drop out or change their preferences.
It's essential to stay updated with the official OUAT counseling announcements and prepare to participate in any subsequent rounds if available. You can check the latest cutoff information and available courses on the OUAT official website for the most accurate and timely details.
