Regional Institute of Management and Technology (RIMT) University Gobindgarh was established in 1998 by the Government of Punjab under  Punjab Act No. 31 of 2015 & under section 2(f) of the UGC. It is recognised by UGC, BCI, AICTE, PCI, and COA. The University was founded by Shri Om Parkash Bansal Educational and Social Welfare Trust. RIMT University offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in various fields.

The courses offered at RIMT Gobindgarh are B.Sc Nursing, BA B.Ed Integrated, B.Pharma,D.Pharma, MBA, B.Arch, Ph.D Mechanical Engineering, BMLT, Diploma in Architecture Assistantship, B.Tech Civil Engineering, B.Com,B.Sc IT , B.P.ES, BA Built Environment Studies Hons, MA Psychology, MA Physical education, M.Sc Interior Design, M.Phil Agriculture Technology, M.Phil Chemistry and various other programmes. 

RIMT Gobindgarh provides various facilities to the students. These facilities include Wi-fi campus, cafeteria, hostels, library, seminar hall, auditorium, sports, gym, common rooms, medical centre, computer centre, labs and many more.
