I have done a long distance course from Tata institute of social sciences from Arena animation in Gurugram. Teachers and the studies are very good, and they always provide help whereever and whenever a student needs. I have seen the college and it's infrastructure is amazing. Everything is well managed here.
I have done a course in film making and editing . The teachers and helpful and kind. Our syllabus and study was up to date and also what we study helps us in our job or for self employment. In the long distance course also have strict rules which are good for students enhancement
Placements are really good. If we do B voc. Course we get placed after 1st semester. Facility helps us to build our resume and they send our resumes at different work places to help us in our placements.
The cost of my course was ₹25,000 per semester. As we have to do internships in our every semester and by doing so we gain much experience. This is why it is worth doing.
I have done a long distance course but as I know and when I have visited college it seems that the campus life their was pretty good. Students were happy, also infrastructure and facilities provided their are decent.
It is/was a nice experience studying here.
College is having all necessary infrastructure regarding academic purposes but when it comes to sports, it lack adequate resources like Playground and all. Classroom are equiped with advanced technology.
Currently i am pursuing my masters in livelihood and social entrepreneurship .Quality of teaching is very good and institute also ranked number one in social work education. curriculum is good enough to allign with contemporary times.
the placement for different schools differ accordingly. In school of social work you can say avg. package is 5-6 LPA. placement cell is very prompt and has been working very good in recent years. college is very supportive when it comes to placements.
The fees has been increased very highly in last 5-6 years. My course cost around 3L for 2 years.
Campus is one of the best thing about tiss mumbai. diversity in its zenith. Student do engage in curricular as well as in extra curricular activities.
Its been a great journey till now for me.. a lot has been gained in terms of learning from the campus.
TISS mumbai has 2 campuses, new and old. Both campuses are absolutely beautiful, green and serene! The academic buildings for lectures are marvelous, spacious, with ACs in some, projectors in most, good benches and chairs. Apart from lecture halls, there is a 6 floor library, a dedicated gymkhana, 2 canteens, badminton, volleyball courts, a central area for students to sit, talk and do their work in their free time, a good amphitheater and so on. Digital infra is commendable too.
I'm a student of public health at tiss. The curriculum is broad, with heavy focus on public health. there are 3 compulsory internships which give practical hands-on exposure and training to public health students. their evaluation system consists of assignments and theory exams. Teaching method is a good mix of conventional blackboard and audio visual systems. Professors are experienced and can translate their knowledge effectively, although every college has professors we might not be fond of.
In public health, placements are completely student driven. However, faculties do help out when the need be. A dedicated placement committee is elected, who works towards placement procedures. All students get placed at the end of the 2 year masters program.
TISS is renowned for its public health course all over the country. Fees is not alot, because tiss receives grants from UGC. It is an absolute value for money, especially considering the ROI and quality of education.
In TISS students are exposed to diverse students coming from all parts of the country and with different graduation specialization. Once in TISS, one has to be politically savvy and mindful. people have different opinions on many things, and often conflicts may arise. Apart from that campus life is amazing. Campus is open all night, there are events happening almost everyday. You can make amazing friends from different demographics and know more about culture, attitudes, political leanings, etc.
TISS is famous for its flagship course HR&LM, but it also has other 50 courses to offer, ODCL, Public health, hospital administration, social work, law, urban policy, etc are a few to name. Each course is unique in its own way. If you get an option for TISS, go ahead!
TISS Tuljapur offers MA in Rural Development programme. It is a four-dimensional programme which comprises of teaching, training, field action, research and documentation. Students pursuing this programme at TISS Tuljapur are engaged in field work, pilot projects, research, etc. Students do internship and field work in various organisations. The MA Social Work in Rural Development postgraduates command excellent job opportunities in various organisations. TISS offers a Master's in Applied Psychology (Clinical and Counselling Practice). While this program equips you with valuable knowledge and skills, it doesn't directly qualify you as a licensed clinical psychologist in India .
This program focuses on developing skills in assessment and intervention for mental health and emotional well-being. It equips you to work in various settings like hospitals, clinics, and NGOs.
TISS's program seems to be designed to provide a foundation in both clinical and counselling psychology. You might not choose a specific specialization (clinical or counselling) within the program itself.
A Master's degree in psychology is the first step. TISS's program is a good starting point. After your Master's, you need to pursue an M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology or a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) program, which are typically research-oriented and include clinical training. These programs are offered by a limited number of universities in India. The Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) regulates the practice of psychology in India. After completing an M.Phil. or Psy.D. program, you'll need to register with the RCI to practice as a clinical psychologist. Registration involves an internship and an exam.
