Agra College, Agra Admission Process

Agra College, Agra, is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in Uttar Pradesh, India. The college offers a whole range of academic programs spread out across 33 courses under 12 degrees. Agra College gives admission mostly on merit, with attempts at inclusiveness and fair justice for all concerned by the admission process. The college is NAAC accredited, with recognition from BCI and NCTE. Admission criteria depend on the admission program chosen. Generally, for undergraduate courses, students must have completed their 10+2 education from a recognized board. For postgraduate and doctoral programs, a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject is required. Some minimum level of academic performance would have to be set in the concerned programs, normally 50%-60% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

Application Process

The admission procedure for Agra College differs slightly depending on the program, but it usually includes the following steps:

1. Visit the official Agra College website and search for the admissions section.

2. Download and fill in the application form for the program of interest. Ensure that all the details are filled in correctly.

3. Collect the documents that must be submitted along with the application:

  • Passport-size photographs

7. If selected, report to the college for document verification and fee payment within the stipulated time frame.

8. For courses providing admission through entrance exams/interviews (like B.Ed or Ph.D), appear for the required tests/interviews on the dates announced by the college.

9. Complete the admission procedure by paying the course fees and collecting the admission letter and identity card.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Com: Admission to the B.Com program at Agra College is based on merit. Students who have completed their 10+2 with Commerce or equivalent subjects are eligible to apply. Students' marks in the qualifying examination are included in the selection procedure.

B.Sc (Bio Group and Maths Group): For B.Sc programs, students must have completed their 10+2 with Science subjects. Admission to B.Sc programs is by merit, with consideration given to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination specifically in the relevant science subjects.

BA: The Bachelor of Arts program offers various subjects. Admission is based on the merit of the 10+2 examination results. Any candidate from any stream (Arts/Science/Commerce) shall apply for BA programs.

LLB: The 3-year LLB program at Agra College has a sanctioned intake of 300 seats. The admission is made on the basis of merit on the graduation marks obtained by the applicants. The candidates should have a bachelor's degree from any discipline from a recognized university.

BA LLB: This is a 5-years integrated course combining Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws. The admission is based on merit on the basis of marks in the 10+2 examination. The total fees for the program are Rs 70,500.

B.Ed: The Bachelor of Education program has an approved intake of 50 seats. Admission to the B.Ed program is based on the merit of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, in accordance with the state government and university policies.

BCA (Self Finance): The Bachelor of Computer Applications has an approved intake of 60 seats. Admission is merit-based on the 10+2 examination results in Mathematics and Computer Science subjects.

The Ph.D. programs offered at Agra College, in a variety of areas, range from Zoology to Statistics to Sanskrit, Psychology, Political Science, Physics, Philosophy, Mathematics, History, Hindi, English, Economics, Chemistry, Botany, Law and Drawing and Painting. Admission into the Ph.D programs pretty much requires a master's degree in the relevant subject and may include an entrance test and/or interview.

Academics

Teachers are decent and are of helping nature. Quality of teaching is average and understanding. It doesn't actually makes us job ready obviously. Curriculum is well updated. Everything else is all average.

Overall experience is nice

Academics

The teachers are knowledgeable and friendly. We can ask doubts as many times as we want though the need is really less as the lectures are very comprehendible. Though campus is not air conditioned we would recommend it atleast in classrooms.
