Ananda Marga Polytechnic, Kolar. It is a known institution providing diploma courses in the varied field of engineering. The college named KREC has its VTU affiliation.   2. Diploma in Civil Engineering (75 seats): This program covers all different aspects of civil construction and infrastructure development. Admission is open for a pass student in 10th standard with good marks in Mathematics and Science.
  3. Diploma in Computer Science Engineering (60 seats): This program aims to train the students for developing software and for IT careers. Admission is also competitive as IT professionals are very much in demand.
  4. Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering (60 seats): The course deals with electronic systems and communication technologies. Preference is given to candidates who have a good grounding in Physics and Mathematics.
  5. Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (60 seats): The programme covers electrical systems, power generation, and electronics. Admission is strictly based on the candidate's performance at the 10th standard, especially in Science and Mathematics.
  6. Diploma in Information Science and Technology (60 seats): It covers the areas of computer science and information technology. Merit admission through entrance examination score, if taken.

For all these courses, the minimum eligibility criterion would be successful completion of 10th standard or equivalent with emphasis on Mathematics and Science subjects. The selection process would also consider marks obtained in the qualifying examination and marks in any state-level entrance exams meant for polytechnic admissions.
