IIT Delhi Admission 2026: Dates, Eligibility, Courses, Cutoff & Selection Criteria

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) offers entrance-based admissions. For IIT Delhi B.Tech admission, candidates must have valid JEE Advanced scores. For BTech+MTech and BS programmes, JEE Advanced scores are considered. Students must have valid UCEED scores for IIT Delhi admissions to the BDes programmes. 

Valid GATE scores are required for IIT Delhi admissions to MTech and MS programmes. For MSc admissions, students must have JAM scores and appear for CCMN counselling. IIT Delhi MBA admissions are based on CAT scores. For MDes programmes, the IIT Delhi selection process is through CEED scores. IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Eligibility Criteria: 

• UAE Nationals

Students need to provide the scores obtained in the GATE exam for MTech admission to IIT Delhi. Aspirants must meet the GATE cutoff and the IIT Delhi M.Tech cutoff for admission to the institute.  It is mandatory for candidates to register themselves on the GATE COAP portal while applying for PG programmes at IITs. IIT Graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or above are eligible for direct IIT Delhi M.Tech 2026 admission. Such candidates are not required to appear for the GATE exam.

• The candidates must meet the IIT Delhi PG eligibility criteria.

• The candidate has to apply and qualify for the GATE examination. 

• If the candidate meets the GATE cutoff then the candidate should register for counselling conducted by COAP.

• Then the candidate must fill out the application form from the official website of IIT Delhi. 

• Shortlisted candidates will be called for written tests and interviews.

• Candidates with MBBS degree (minimum overall CPI of 6.5) or B.Tech degree (minimum overall CPI of 8.0) are exempted from GATE 2026.  

• Then seat allocation for IIT Delhi M.Tech admissions will be done based on the performance of the candidate in the entrance examination.

IIT Delhi Direct Admission Process for M.Tech Courses

• IIT Graduates having CGPA of 8.0 or above are exempted from having a GATE score.

• Students will be selected for direct M.Tech admissions based on interview.

The selection process for IIT Delhi M.Des admission will include of a studio test and a personal interview. Candidates will be shortlisted for IIT Delhi M.Des admission based on their CEED score, will have to appear for an interview. The studio test and interview are expected to be held at the lecture hall complex in IIT Delhi. IIT Delhi M.Des studio test will be held in May last week, tentatively.
