If you belong to general category, no chance. If you belong to any other category, you have a high chance for that. So do keep yourself updated about the same. Good luck.

Which category do you belong to? If general and OBC I am scared your chances of getting admission into AIT, Pune are very less. Also, it would help of you can tell me your score. I can tell you the exact branch too, with the help of your score.

Hello.
You seem to be very dissapointed that you couldn't get into AIT, Pune.
The thing is you can get into AIT. you have cleared the cutoff percentile, and secondly it all depends on the institute's cutoff ranks. According to your rank, you will get electrical communications and mechanical branch easily, though not CSE and IT.
Good luck.

See, AIT Pune has two criteria. An above 90 percentile, which you have cleared. And secondly, they have cutoff ranks for every branch they have.

So, it depends on your rank. If you have less than 55-60 thousand rank, you will get CSE course if you like. Otherwise you might have to go for lower preferred branches.

Another criteria would be to be a ward of an army personnel. That's it. Good luck.

Well, JEE stands among some of the most prestigious and toughest exams in the country. Clearly with its high standards it is not easy to get through it, but with proper planning and consistent efforts you can have a go at the exam. I have bulleted certain strategic point where students can work on and some points where they lag.

Keeping in view that you have very less time as mains is on the 7th of April. You need to focus on revising of important topics from the NCERT. Mahesh, in case you are a CBSE student you must be well versed with the NCERT already I expect. For any other boards you need to know that JEE MAINS is basically NCERT oriented and you need to go through certain topics thoroughly before the exam.

Magnetism, thermodynamics, current electricity, atoms, semiconductors , mechanics are some important sections of physics for mains. Similarly physical chemistry (mainly chemical kinetics, chemical bonding, equilibrium, solutions and thermodynamics) and the s,p,d,f Blocks of periodic table and metallurgy along with polymers , chemistry in daily life are important. For mathematics go for calculus, trigonometry, probability, sets, matrices and determinants, coordinate geometry, 3D and vectors.

Besides these working with model papers and solving as much previous years questions as you can, will surely boost up your overall score in the mains. And keep in mind every mark is important.

While attempting the paper, avoid getting caught into the negative marking. Most of the students drastically faulted here and end up scoring bad . Make sure you try the questions you know.

Other things a student needs to know are:

1. Know your passion. It is important that you passion for engineering. You will need it once you start your preparations for the exam. You will have many instances of being tired with the preparation and even the thoughts of giving up will come across in your head. You need enough passion to keep the motivation optimal. You can have friends, family or teachers who you can talk to in these uninspiring times.

2.Do not rely completely on the coachings. Yes! Even though it's important that you get some nice mentoring and guidance throughout still they primarily focus on getting done with the syllabus on time. You have to find out your own time to revise and review the learned concept regularly. It's not just JEE, you cannot Clear up any exam without the proper strategy and balance between the study and revision.

3. The right study material. Keep in mind that what most coachings do is that they provide a study material which is above the level of mains and below advance. You need to keep in mind that preparation for the two levels is very different. You need to know which level you are preparing for. It is always a good option to focus on NCERT for mains.

4.analyse the trends. Keep analysing the trends of questions in the exam. Sorting things out on a chapterwise basis gives you a clear picture of what are the chapters in trends and what is it you need to work on.

5. Take tests. What the best students do differently from the rest is that they keep on testing their skills and working on their weak zones. Taking mock tests and joining test series is a great option for the same. Some of the best coachings provide an all India level test series which is very helpful in analysing your performance on all India level. And also they give an analysis of your report indicating the weak zones of your preparations. Fiitjee is the best when it comes to test series, it is more JEE-advance oriented and has the highest number of enrollment in the country. Resonance provides a good test series for Mains level.

6. Previous years questions. These are important determinants in the separation of the best students from the crowd and it is one of the most important factor in changing your overall performance.

7. Consistency. Consistency is crucial, working for 12 hours a day and taking next two days off is a bad plan. Rather studying 7-9 hours everyday is a good plan. Breaking the streak is also bad for motivation.

8. Proper sleep and health. To last long in the competition you need a great health and a good healthy diet. Proper sleep increases your concentration levels, motivation and retaintion capacity. Make sure you get a 7-8 hours sleep every night. Make a schedule and stick to it. Discipline is also a great determinant of the level of results you achieve.

And at the end. Anything can be achieved with determination and perseverance. Do not give up on it. And do your best. Good luck!
