    I congratulate your interst towards placements in the colleges which you have mentioned and i am her to help you regarding your query.

    So, to be honest, both the  colleges are the top ones in the area. The placements were very good in the college and they are actually good when compared to many other colleges. Also, ballari institute of technology is good and also the RYMEC is also good in the area. In the past years, RYMEC does the good job in getting companies to the college and also training and drives. so, both the colleges are doing good and also visit the colleges and then proceed further accordingly.

Since you have nit mentioned your category here, this query would be answered by considering general merit category here.

According to KCET cutoffs of 2018, you may not get a very decent college at rank of 80000, you can get certainly get a seat at a college. At Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore, you can get Mining engineering. At JSS Academy of technical education, you can get Industrial engineering and management management. Similarly, you can get a seat at many other colleges too.

The ultimate goal of any aspirant is to get a good ROI at the end of the PGDM course. Today, there are lots of mediocre colleges offering PGDM/MBA which doesn't have a good course or good placement.

I would suggest you to prepare well for next year and give your best. Do not depend on just CAT for your MBA college. Try CMAT, SNAP and NMAT too. They are easier to crack compared to CAT.
