Bishop's College of Nursing, Dharapuram, is one of the top nursing schools, which imparts best training in nursing education. The college is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and adopts a comprehensive admission process to choose the most deserving candidates to its various nursing programs.
The admission process in Bishop's College of Nursing is purely on merit. The merit list provided by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu, is the yardstick for selecting candidates for the undergraduate programs. This ensures a fair and transparent selection process for prospective nursing students.
The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate nursing courses. The B.Sc Nursing program has an intake capacity of 50 students, while each of the five M.Sc Nursing specializations admits 4 students annually.
Application Process
The admission process varies slightly between undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Bishop's College of Nursing:
For B.Sc Nursing:
1. Obtain and complete the application form.
2. Attach xerox copies of all required certificates.
3. Candidates who did not take the HSC should obtain and submit an Eligibility certificate from Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University.
4. Submit the completed application form along with all attachments to the college.
5. Wait for entry into the merit list by DME.
6. Attend the interview as scheduled, bringing all original certificates.
7. The final selection list will be announced the day following the interview.
For M.Sc Nursing programs:
1. Apply through the appropriate channel (DME for government quota, college for management quota).
2. Interview in the management quota, appear on the specified date if called.
3. Bring all relevant certificates in original for the interview.
4. The final selection list will be announced the day after the interview.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Sc Nursing: The intake for B.Sc Nursing at Bishop's College of Nursing is 50 students. The process of admission includes filling up of application forms along with xerox copies of certificates. Non-HSC candidates have to submit an Eligibility certificate during admission from the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. Admission is based on merit lists as given by the DME. The division of seats will be equal for both management quota (50%) and government quota (50%) through DME, Tamil Nadu.
M.Sc Nursing: Bishop's College of Nursing offers five M.Sc Nursing specializations: Medical Surgical Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing, Community Health Nursing, and Psychiatric Nursing. Each specialization has an intake of 4 students. Admission to M.Sc programs is uniform across all the specializations. The government candidates are selected based on the merit list by DME. For management quota, candidates will be called for an interview. The final selection is strictly on merit. Like the B.Sc program, 50% seats are kept under management quota while 50% remain government seats through DME, Tamil Nadu.
