Cauvery College of Nursing, Mysuru Admission Process

Cauvery College of Nursing, Mysuru. It was one of the best nursing colleges in Karnataka, India. The college is affiliated with the Indian Nursing Council and offers a variety of nursing courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma levels. The admission process at Cauvery College of Nursing is made to select committed and capable candidates for its different nursing programs. The college conducts courses in B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc Nursing with specializations, and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) diploma courses. Admissions usually follow the academic calendar and most programs usually start in the month of August-September. 

A 10+2 education from a recognized board is required for bachelor's-level programs. For master's-level courses, a recognized bachelor's in nursing from a recognized university is needed. The specific eligibility criteria may vary for different programs and specializations. Some state-level and national-level entrance exams are, however, essential to appear to gain admission for specific nursing courses. The eligibility for the respective programs is often on merit bases that take into consideration the qualification exam and entrance test scores for candidates.

Admission Process 

The process for the application of Cauvery College of Nursing, Mysuru is as follows:

1. One can visit the official website of Cauvery College of Nursing to download the application form.

2. One can download the application form and fill up the same with all the personal and academic details.

3. One needs to collect all the documents required for this process. They are:

  • Passport size photographs
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Migration Certificate, if applicable
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  •  Entrance exam score card(if applicable)

4. Duly filled in application form with all documents attached should be submitted to the college admission office either personally or by post.

6. After the application is submitted, wait for the college to process it. Candidates shortlisted are called for counseling or interviews as the case may be, as per the program.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc Nursing: The B.Sc Nursing program at Cauvery College of Nursing has an approved intake of 60 seats. Admission is based on the candidate's performance in the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects. The program duration is four years.

Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing This two-year course has an intake capacity of 30 seats only. Candidates are preferred to have completed Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from any nursing college affiliated with a university. Generally, the selection is done according to the merit of the qualifying examination.

M.Sc Nursing: The college provides various specializations in M.Sc Nursing, including Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, and Medical Surgical Nursing. Every specialization has 5 seats. Admission is on the basis of merit in the B.Sc Nursing course and any relevant entrance examinations.

GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery): This diploma course has an approved intake of 50 seats. Candidates who have passed 10+2 with science subjects are eligible to apply. The selection process is usually based on the merit of the qualifying examination.
