Chandrakona Vidyasagar Mahavidyalaya, Paschim Medinipur Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

This college called Chandra Kona Vidyasagar Mahavidyalaya, under government-aided status in Paschim Medinipur. It falls under Vidyasagar University and offers several undergraduate courses. The admission will be based on merit and procedures according to the admission process given by Vidyasagar University. The admission process begins usually after the announcement of 10+2 results and this process continues till around the year of August-September. The courses being offered in the college are as follows: Three years of full-time courses in all undergraduate degrees, namely B.A., B.Sc., and other Honours courses. 

The minimum qualification for obtaining admission is 10+2 from any recognized board. Selection of candidates will thus take place according to the merit list based upon performance in the qualifying examination (10+2). However, it should be noted that these limited seats in every program would make it very difficult to go through the admission procedure. The college wants to be satisfied only with the best choice for the deserving students who have the highest academic competence and potential for their selected programs of study.

2. Online Application: Candidates have to fill in online application form available on the website of the college.

3. Submission of Documents: Candidates will have to upload copies of different necessary documents including:

• 10th Standard Certificate 
• Passport Size Photograph
• Signature 
• Caste Certificate (if applicable) 
• Others as may be applicable as per notices of college

4. Payment of Application Fee: Application fees would need to be transferred online in the mode as indicated on the college website.

5. Publishing Merit List: The college will publish the merit list for different courses on the official website and notice boards.

6. Document verification: Short-listed candidates are invited for verification of documents on specific given dates.

7. Admission Confirmation: Candidates are required to confirm their seat by making a full payment of admission fees post verification of documents.

8. Start of classes: Admitted students report to college on such date specified to start attending classes.

Degree-wise Admission Procedure 

B.A. (Hons.): The college offers several B.A. Honours programs in different subjects as well as admissions to Sanskrit, Philosophy, Education, English, Bengali, History, and Santali. The admission procedure for these subjects is based on merit points computation as laid down by Vidyasagar University. For instance, against 85 sanctioned seats of the B.A. Sanskrit Honours program, there are only 40 seats of the B.A. Philosophy Honours.

B.Sc. (Honours): B.Sc. Honours programs include Computer Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, Economics, Physics, and Geography in addition to those available from the Chandrakona Vidyasagar Mahavidyalaya. The merit-based admission process is also applicable for these courses. Approved intake for the B.Sc. Computer Science Honours program is 40 students, 24 for B.Sc. Mathematics Honours, and 15 for B.Sc. Chemistry Honours.

Both General B.A. and B.Sc.: opposite of general programs offered by the college for BA/BSc completers who are a bit curious about almost everything. The B.Sc. general program approved intake is 40 students. Promotion into these programs is also based on merit, from ranks in the qualifying examination.
