Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Government Medical College is one of the important government institutions that run several medical programs in India. CCM Medical College, which is an associate of Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University of Chhattisgarh, Raipur, has a methodology adapted for admitting students into various medical programs via competitive national-level entrance exams.
The MBBS admissions process almost relies on the NEET-UG. This is a common examination for prospective medical applicants in the country, conducted almost annually, usually between May and June, which goes in line with the practical admission process, whose results are released mainly in September.
For MBBS applicants, qualifications require applicants to have completed the 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. The specific eligibility criterion may vary and generally is adjudicated by NMC (the National Medical Commission) and the state government on minimum percentage norms.
Application Process
Different programs have different application processes at CCM Medical College:
For MBBS:
1. Register for NEET-UG and sit for the test.
2. Achieve a qualifying score in NEET-UG by attaining a score more than cut-off marks based on the prescribed appropriate category.
3. Registration for the state counselling process should be notified by the Chhattisgarh state authorities.
4. Fill and submit CCM Medical College's online application form during this counseling process.
5. Upload all relevant documents as required by the counselling authorities.
6. Pay application fee.
7. Choose CCM Medical College and the MBBS course in the choice-filling process.
8. In case of seat allotment, the candidates will need to go to CCM Medical College for verification of documents and other admission processes.
For Other Programs (B.Sc Nursing, GNM, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology):
1. Visit the official website of CCM Medical College or of the corresponding university regarding information on program-specific announcements.
2. Download application forms for the concerned programs and fill in the details.
3. Attach all relevant documents: including academic qualification certificates, category certificates, if any, and proof of identity.
4. Submit the filled application form within the deadline and pay the necessary fee.
5. Attend the entrance examinations/interviews, if applicable to the concerned program.
6. After selection of the individual, one is supposed to complete the admission process, including submission of original documents and payment of necessary fees.
Degree-wise Admission Process
MBBS: Admission to the MBBS course at CCM Medical College is entirely based on the marks obtained in the exam by an applicant in NEET-UG. This college is approved for 200 students to be admitted to the MBBS program. Thus, admission into the institute will require the student to qualify for NEET-UG, followed by counseling for allocation of seats. Admission will be resorted to during centralized counseling held by state authorities based on NEET scores.
B.Sc Nursing: This college has an institute to provide the B.Sc Nursing program. However, not much has been said about admissions, except that they might rely on typical merit in the sciences, and perhaps the state-level entrance testing for nursing courses might be considered.
GNM: The medical college itself offers the General Nursing and Midwifery course. Most cases are completed after the applicant achieves 10+2 subjects, and sometimes merit selection or recognized entrance tests in nursing is also accepted.
Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: This program is intended to upgrade the qualifications of registered nurses, and therefore requires entry based on holding a diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and registration with the State Nursing Council.
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology: The diploma course offered by CCM Medical College. It is presumed that admission would be based on Class 12 marks in Science, followed by merit selection or entrance exam performance.
