Charnock College of Nursing, Kolkata Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

Charnock College of Nursing conducts courses for aspiring healthcare professionals wishing to gain a degree or courses at different levels of education, therefore offering first-rate nursing education in West Bengal. Charnock College of Nursing is home for aspiring healthcare professionals as it also selects qualified candidates for these courses through Admission Processes.

Most of the courses at the college are merit-based. For the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program, admissions are granted based on the merit list generated from marks obtained in the Higher Secondary examination. The counseling process is done afterwards.

For the postgraduate courses of M.Sc Medical Surgical Nursing and M.Sc Child Health Nursing, the admission process contains a common entrance test. The Joint Entrance Test for M.Sc Nursing (JEMScN) is taken by candidates into consideration by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB).

Application Process

Application types change per program for Charnock College of Nursing:

For B.Sc Nursing and GNM programs:

1. Candidates are to check the college site official website for application announcements.
2. Take and fill out the application form either online or offline as per the college instructions.
3. Submit the filled out application form with the needed documents and application fee.
4. Wait for the merit list publication.
5. Attend the counseling process as per schedule for those on the merit list.

For M.Sc Nursing programs (Medical Surgical Nursing and Child Health Nursing):

1. Register yourself on WBJEBD official site.
2. Apply for Joint Common Entrance Test for JEMScN and pay test fees.
3. Attend the JEMScN entry test.
4. Download a rank card if passed.
5. Participate in the online counseling process:
a. Register for counseling
b. Fill choices of nursing institutes in order of preference
c. Lock your choices
6. Pay acceptance fees for the seat online if awarded a seat.
7. Download the "Seat Allotment Letter".
8. Report at Charnock College of Nursing with all original documents and photocopies for verification and completion of the admission process.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Sc Nursing: This program is for 100 seats in Charnock College of Nursing. The program is governed by the central selection committee (Nursing). Candidates are selected by the committee based on their academic performance, besides other criteria defined by the central selection committee (Nursing).

M.Sc Medical Surgical Nursing: This postgraduate course has only 4 seats. Admission involves:

1. Candidate registration on the official WBJEEB website and application for the Common Joint Entrance Test for JEMScN.
2. Download their rank cards and follow the counseling schedule.
3. Candidate will register for online counseling process through choice filling of Nursing Institute according to preference and choice lock.

M.Sc Child Health Nursing: Just like with the M.Sc Medical Surgical Nursing program, this program has only 4 seats, but admission goes by the same process. Also:

1. Candidates must download the "Seat Allotment Letter" after seat allotment along with the payment of online seat acceptance fees.
2. Candidates must physically report to the allotted institution with all original documents and photocopies for verification and completion of the admission procedure.

GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery): The program of GNM has 100 seats. Admissions in the program are based on a merit list that is created on the marks in the Higher Secondary examination and followed up by the counseling process.

Required documents may include:

• Higher Secondary mark sheet and certificate.
• Secondary mark sheet and certificate.
• Transfer certificate from the previous institution.
• Character certificate.
• Caste certificate (if applicable).
• Domicile certificate (if needed).
• Recent passport-size photographs.
• Any other requirements by the college or regulatory bodies.
