CDCRI Rajnandgaon Admission Process

Chhattisgarh Dental College and Research Institute (CDCRI), Rajnandgaon, is a prestigious institution for dental education. CDCRI has an elaborate admission procedure through national-level entrance examinations to select the most suitable candidates for any program it offers. The admission cycle of CDCRI runs typically within the national dental education calendar. The undergraduate admissions usually commence in February with the NEET-UG application and end in September when counseling and admissions are completed. The same applies to the postgraduate admissions, which are also initiated from around February through the NEET-MDS applications to conclude via the May-June period.

Candidates must take the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) in order to obtain admission to BDS. Those eligible for admission must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology being mandatory subjects, and English as an essential subject. Aspirants for MDS courses must also take the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for MDS (NEET-MDS). Candidates should also have their BDS degree from a recognized institution to be eligible for MDS programs. Typically, NEET-UG takes place during the month of May, while NEET-MDS is conducted in March.

Application Process

The application process for the admission to CDCRI involves the following steps:

For BDS Program:

  1. Register for and appear in NEET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
  2. Register for state counseling after the results of NEET-UG are declared.
  3. Fill up the online application form for CDCRI through the counseling authority allocated for it.
  4. Upload all requisite documents, such as NEET-UG score card, 10+2 mark sheet, domicile certificate (if applicable), and category certificate (if applicable).
  5. As specified by the counseling authority, pay the application fee
  6. Participate in the counseling rounds, including document verification and seat allotment.
  7. If a seat at CDCRI is allotted, candidates have to report to the institution for physical verification of documents and fee payment within a specified duration.

For MDS Programs:

  1. Register and appear for NEET-MDS conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
  2. Register for the state-level or All India Quota counseling process, as applicable, after the declaration of NEET-MDS results.
  3. Fill out the online application form for CDCRI through the designated counseling authority.
  4. Upload all required documents, including NEET-MDS score card, BDS degree certificate and mark sheets, internship completion certificate, and registration certificate from the State Dental Council. 
  5. Pay the application fee as specified by the counseling authority.
  6. Participate in the counseling process, which may include document verification and seat allotment rounds.
  7. If allotted a seat at CDCRI, report to the institute for physical document verification and fee payment within the stipulated time.

Degree wise Admission Process

BDS: The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program at CDCRI has an intake of 100 seats. Admission will be through NEET-UG score of the candidate. This program has a duration of 5 years, which should include a rotatory internship of one year. Candidates must have passed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects and English as a core subject.

MDS: CDCRI offers various specializations in its Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), with courses lasting 3 years each. The MDS programs offered are in Oral Medicine and Radiology, Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Periodontology, Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Oral Pathology, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Each specialization has an intake of 2-3 seats. Admission to the program will be based on the NEET-MDS score of the candidate. Eligible candidates should have completed their BDS degree from a recognized institution.

Normally documents required for admission are:

  • NEET-UG/NEET-MDS score card
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • BDS degree certificate and mark sheets (for MDS applicants)
  • Internship completion certificate
  • State Dental Council registration certificate (for MDS applicants)
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Valid ID proof.
