College of Agriculture, Vellayani Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

The College of Agriculture, Vellayani and is a global prestigious constituent college of Kerala Agricultural University, situated in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The institute is recognized by ICAR (Indian Council for Agricultural Research), and offers a plethora of agricultural programs at different levels, including diploma, degree, postgraduate, and PhD studies. Admission to B.Sc Agricultural Hons and B.Tech Biotechnology programs of undergraduate level is through KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical Examination). KEAM is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) and is scheduled to happen from April 24-28, 2025. Candidates applying to these Degree programs must also qualify in NEET-UG (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate), which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The general approximate timing for postgraduate admissions for the various M.Sc programs in agricultural sciences is based on a common entrance examination held by Kerala Agricultural University. 

Application Process

The application process for the College of Agriculture, Vellayani, shall vary from the program applied for:

1. For B.Sc Agricultural Hons and B.Tech Biotechnology:
2. Register for KEAM through the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE).
3. Take the KEAM examination, which is scheduled for April 24-28, 2025.
4. Qualify in NEET-UG conducted by NTA.
5. Attend the counselling through the CEE website if cutoff is met.
6. Report at the college after seat allotment for document verification and fee payment.

For M.Sc and Ph.D Programs:

• Start checking the notification for entrance examination by Kerala Agricultural University.
• Enroll and apply for the entrance examination according to the subjects concerned.
• Sit for the entrance examination on the specified date.
• For the trusted interview, additional calls may be made to shortlisted candidates for Ph.D. programs.
• Wait for the rank list to be published by the Kerala Agricultural University.
• If selected, comply with the admission procedures as stated by the university.

For Diploma Programs:

• Apply for Kerala Agricultural University Common Entrance Exam.
• Commit yourself to the entrance examination.
• Check the merit list published by the university.
• If selected, proceed with the admission process as directed by the university.

General requirements for the admission procedure are:

• Entrance exam score card (KEAM/NEET-UG/KAU entrance exam)

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc Agricultural Hons and B.Tech Biotechnology: Admission to these undergraduate programs is determined by the performance of the candidates in KEAM. The applicants have also to qualify in NEET-UG. The selection and allotment process is managed through the CEE (Commissioner for Entrance Examinations).

M.Sc Programs: The College offers various M.Sc programs in agricultural sciences, namely Agronomy, Agricultural Entomology, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Pathology, Agricultural Economics, etc. Admissions to these programs are conducted on the basis of an entrance exam jointly held by Kerala Agricultural University. The ranking of the selected candidates will be per the rank list published by the university after conducting the entrance examination.

Ph.D Programs: The institute offers doctoral programs in various specializations, including Agronomy, Agricultural Entomology, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Pathology, etc. For admission to all Ph.D. programs admissions, there is either a written test and/or an interview. Some departments consider GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR scores as grounds for exemption from the written test.

Diploma in Organic Agriculture: Admission to this diploma program is based on the performance in the Common Entrance Exam conducted by Kerala Agricultural University.

PGD in Horticultural Therapy:  Admission to this diploma program is also conducted on the basis of Common Entrance Examination conducted by Kerala Agricultural University, and candidates are selected based on the rank list published by the university after conducting the entrance examination.
