CEC Chengannur Facilities

College of Engineering, Chengannur has adequate infrastructure like hostel, library, etc. It also provides facilities to the students like sports, canteen, etc. in order to give them a break from the regular academic schedule they follow. Students can avail these facilities in their free time for their recreation. CEC Chenagnnur also provides a bus facility to the students to make their traveling more convenient.

Boys Hostel
The Men's Hostel is located right next to the campus and has a capacity of 70 students. Recreational facilities are also provided to the inmates.
Girls Hostel
One of the Ladies' Hostels is situated half a kilometer away, near the Railway Station and two near the college. The college bus provides for the transit to and from the college everyday. The Ladies' Hostels are provided with net connectivity. All the hostels have a warden who is usually a faculty member, to supervise and to address any grievances.
Medical/Hospital
The college has health center with first aid facility for the students.
Gym
The college has Gym facility for the students.
Library
The College Library has a wide collection of latest books, periodicals and CDs. This collection is expanded and updated each year. The open access catalogue system (OPAC) provides reading and reference facilities for both faculty and students. Online and offline information is offered and new resources are added to provide a holistic and comprehensive service.The institution maintains a general library, an IEEE library (restricted for IEEE members) and three department libraries
Sports
At College of Engineering Chengannur we believe in the overall development of the individual. So as not to remain confined to excellence in academics there is avid participation by the students in various sports activities both at Inter College and Intra College levels. We are proud to say that many laurels and accolades have been won by the performance of our teams in these meets. There is a badminton court in the centre of the main academic building, and we also have a fully equipped gymnasium which is very popular among the students. For the enthusiastic sport lovers of our college, we comduct an annual sports week in our college which involves both track and field events along with indoor games such as Chess and Carroms. Apart from the annual meet there are special annual inter semester Football Competition (Tiger 5), Badminton Competition (Smash), Throwball Competition for girls, and an Inter-Collegiate Volleyball Championship (I Shall).
I.T Infrastructure
Our institution is one of the few institutions selected for National Knowledge Network( NKN ), by Govt of India. NKN is a Govt. Project, designed to ensure the highest level of availability, quality of service, robust, secure and reliable internet connectivity. As a part of this project , the campus is served by a 100 Mbps internet connection , soon to be upgraded to 1 Gbps. 14 Public IP addresses are allotted by NKN . Also we have two- 8Mbps, one-2Mbps broadband connections, and ten-512Kbps VPN connections provided by BSNL . The facility is supported by a backbone of Dlink Gigagibit Layer3 and Layer2 switches. The connection is distributed through the campus network to an intranet connecting various laboratories and subnets inside each lab, departments, workshops, library, office as well as each class rooms.
Cafeteria
The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.
Auditorium
The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminar.
Transport Facility
College bus facility is available and it will be operating as per the requirement of the students.
Alumni Associations
The college has a good networking for alumni association.
Wifi
The campus is equipped with sufficient indoor access points, through which Wi-Fi internet connection is available within the institution.
Laboratories
The college has departmental based laboratories facility for the students.

College Infrastructure

College have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. And our college has five floors. They provide well classrooms with projector, white board etc. Libraries with books and we can use the books at anytime and all are well maintained. And there is a college canteen with good and hygienic food.

College Infrastructure

The college does provide necessary infrastructural facilities, but there are few areas where I believe there is need for improvement. The computer labs need to be further improved as majority of the systems are old and need to be changed. WiFi is currently being installed in the campus, so we can expect it to start functioning soon. Every classrooms are provided with projectors for digital learning. Libraries are great with a vast range of books and journals.

College Infrastructure

Maintenance are made . Hostel are provided with good accommodation and food. Library has many books , students can take any book whenever needed. The college has 5 floors. Every class has projector too. College has necessary infrastructure.

Hello Aspirant,

As per stats, Chengannur Engineering College is better in terms of placement and college life. The highest CTC offered in Chengannur Engineering College is 8 LPA.

On the other hand SJ CET is more like a school than a college with the placement slightly below Chengannur Engineering College.

I will compare both the colleegs for you so that you can decide which college suits you better.

As far as College of Engineering (Kidangoor) is concerned this institution is shining with excellent records in academic as well as extracurricular fields and has excellent faculty and well established facilities. The institute provides both interships and placements however most of them are for cs and IT.

For college of engineering (Chengannur) it is the 8th best Engineering college in Kerala with a ranking in top 20 out of 137.The institute provides good placement opportunities including many multinational companies. Usually more than 90 % students get recruited in various companies(mostly from CS department).
