The infrastructure of the college is good to an extent. There are some essential components that the college does not provide to the students. The students who are pursuing their BCA, have their own computer labs. There is a filming studio on campus which does not exactly belong to the college but the students are allowed to gain experiences from the studio and take up internships. There is a library with a few computers to work on. There is no canteen which belongs to the college.
The academics which are taught in the college do not really have any relevance with the outside job markets. I dont really believe that the syllabus is kept up to date with the modern inventions and discoveries in whatever field you are studying. The teaching quality is good since the teachers are very experienced but the syllabus does not give you justice with the teaching.
The college does have a college placement cell but none of the students get placed from that cell. No one knows to what extent does the cell function. Most of the students find the jobs themselves so they have to undergo the whole application process on their own. Some of the faculty use their contacts to help the students get placed.
It is not at all value for the money that you pay. The fees are to much to pay for the quality of education that you get. most of the things are mediocre.
There is a poor sense of the life on campus. The students are friendly and some are very rude to you, but that is just the student life and you get to experience in college. The teachers and support-staff are very friendly. The college is able to deal with emergencies. The location of college is at a very prime location and is safe.
The facilities available in this college are well maintained. These include adequate classrooms, IT labs, an AV room, Studio and ample playground. WiFi is not available for students. Hostel is available for boys only.
Quality of teaching is good and the curriculum is updated every year according to the University guidelines. all faculty members make use of all possible methods of teaching which includes use of interactive media. With practicals and assistance the study makes you job-ready. The With
There is adequate placement provided from the institute although the students are guided in taking steps to pursue higher education. It has a placement cell that functions but we don't know to what extent.
The course fee would increase every year but the average course cost was less than Rs. 50000. That is probably because each year there is some sort of development with the campus or in the teaching equipment.
The location is the centre of the city of Panaji. The students can enagage in a lot of sports and cultural activities alongside academic stuff at the Don Bosco Oratory which is within the campus. The teachers and the support staff and the management treat every student equal and like family.
Its a place for holistic education. The campus has a good and positive vibes all the time. If you love football, basketball, badminton or table tennis then this is the place you wanna be in while pursuing a degree.
In my opinion, Don Bosco College does not have the necessary equipment as compared to any other college in the area. However, the BCA department has their computer labs, the BMM department has their filming studio. There is a library located at the top floor with many books to refer to and it also has computers to work on. The college does not have a canteen of its own neither does it have a place to sit and socialise with your peers and mates. All the classrooms have a projector and a screen.
I was studying BA mass media at Don Bosco College. Since I stay nearby and had interests in this course, I decided to pursue it. the teaching is good to an extent. The faculty is experienced in their respective fields. Some of the courses covered over the 3 years do make you job ready. However, I feel that some courses are not required and need to be rethought by the college.
I would not be in a position to talk about the placements for the simple fact that the college does not have a placement cell of its own. The students have to apply for jobs on their own and go through the whole application process. There are times when the faculty may help you to get a Job through their contacts, but that is a rare occasion too!
As far as I can remember, my coarse cost me approximately 40,000/- per academic year. But it again depends on the course that you choose to study. The reson why the college chareges the fees at this cost is because it is a private college and hence does not receive funds from the government. I feel this amount is a bit on the higher end since the material that we are taught as well as the practical experience in the studio would still not come up to such a rate.
The college is located in the heart of the city of Panjim and at a very safe location. Most of the teachers as well as the support staff are very friendly and they are mostly available to guide you in and also outside the classroom. The students here are friendly to an extent till the point of competition in any field be in academics, sports, love etc. The college hosts the annual inter-collegiate festival named Meteora. Besides this, there are various inter-collegiate department festivals too.
The entire college is located in the second half of the 3rd floor. The campus is shared by the school, higher secondary, college, the shrine, the oratory and the clubhouse. The campus is extremely huge and they have 2 big football grounds, one of which restricts entry since it is used by the professional footballers who have hired the ground for their practice sessions.
