Don Bosco College, Panjim Admission Process

Don Bosco College, Panjim, has gained a halfway ground between renown and notoriety as an affiliated college in Goa. Don Bosco College offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in diverse fields and branches. The admission processes instituted in Don Bosco College are devised to ensure that the most deserving are chosen for their various academic programs.  The admission process may commence about a few months prior to the start of the new academic calendar for the coming academic year. Most of the undergraduate admission processes involve interview selection, while some special programs may have specific selection criteria. The merit of the candidates in the qualifying examinations (10+2 or equivalent) is also taken into consideration for permissibility of admission selections.

Application Process

The application process for Don Bosco College is slightly different for different programs:

1. For most undergraduate programs (BCA, B.Com, BA, BBA, BSW):

  • Obtain the application form from the college office or download it from its official website.
  • The filled application form needs to give true information.
  • The candidate is to attach all required documents to the application form, including mark sheets of qualifying examinations, character certificate, and any other relevant certificates.
  • The completed application form, along with all the documents, is to be handed to the college office.
  • The application fee is to be paid as per the college's requirements.
  • Attend the interview as scheduled by the college.

2. For B.P.Ed programs:

  • Steps from 1-5 as above.
  • Take and pass the Don Bosco College B.P.Ed Entrance Test.
  • If shortlisted on the basis of entrance exam, attend the personal interview.

3. For MSW programs:

  • Complete the application form for GU-ART at Goa University
  • Sit for the GU-ART entrance test on the date mentioned by Goa University.
  • If shortlisted on the basis of the GU-ART merit list, complete the admission process as notified by Don Bosco College.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Com (Hons): Don Bosco College offers B.Com (Hons) programs in Financial Accounting, Auditing and Taxation, and Business Management. Each program has an intake of 60 seats. Admission is based on an interview process. The total fee for these programs is Rs 25,875.

BA (Hons): The college provides BA (Hons) programs in Psychology and English, each with 60 seats. Admissions are conducted through interviews. The fee for these programs is Rs 25,275.

BCA: The Bachelor of Computer Applications program has an intake of 80 students. Admission is based on an interview process. The total fee for the BCA program is Rs 1,49,662.

B.P.Ed: The Bachelor of Physical Education program has 50 seats. Admission to this program is merit-based, determined by performance in the Don Bosco College B.P.Ed Entrance Test and a Personal Interview. The program fee is Rs 29,990.

BBA: Don Bosco College offers BBA programs in General Management and Travel and Tourism, each with 46 seats. Admissions are conducted through interviews.

BSW: The Bachelor of Social Work program has an intake of 30 students. Admission is based on an interview process.

MSW: The Master of Social Work program with 40 seats works on a merit basis determined by the Goa University's GU-ART entrance test.

Documents generally required for admission are:

  • Duly filled application form
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Mark sheets of Class 10 and Class 12 (or equivalent)
  • Character certificate from the last institution attended
  • Transfer certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Any other relevant certificates as specified by the college.

Quality of teaching is average but need to improve the curriculum is vintage wifi facility is not there computer lab is old some run on windows 7 which needs an upgrade website of the college is also bad

Academics

The academics which are taught in the college do not really have any relevance with the outside job markets. I dont really believe that the syllabus is kept up to date with the modern inventions and discoveries in whatever field you are studying. The teaching quality is good since the teachers are very experienced but the syllabus does not give you justice with the teaching.

The best 3 years of fun alongside learning.
