UPES B.Tech Admissions 2025
ApplyRanked #42 among Engineering colleges in India by NIRF | Highest CTC 50 LPA , 100% Placements
Dear
According to the information with a 36 percentile in JEE Main, securing a seat at Government Engineering College (GEC), Thrissur might be quite challenging as the cutoffs for this institution are generally higher. GEC Thrissur typically requires a higher rank for admission to their B.Tech programs.
However, don't lose hope! You might still have opportunities at other state-level engineering colleges or private institutions with lower cutoffs. For finding the best college you Deserve use College predictor tool.
Thanks.
Choosing between Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at CET (College of Engineering, Pune) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC) at Government Engineering College (GEC) Thrissur depends on your career interests and goals. CET Pune is one of the premier engineering institutes in India, renowned for its strong academic reputation and industry connections, which can provide a significant advantage in the job market. On the other hand, GEC Thrissur, while a respected institution in Kerala, offers a solid program in Electronics and Communication, which is particularly relevant if you have a keen interest in communication systems and related technologies. Both options have their strengths, so consider factors such as location, faculty, campus facilities, and your specific interest in either Electrical or Electronics and Communication when making your decision.
Hello Manisha
Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that your son will be able to secure a seat in a Government Engineering College (GEC) in Chhattisgarh with a score of 38.236% in the CG PET 2024 exam.
Why is this the case?
High Competition: Engineering is a popular field, and the number of aspirants far exceeds the available seats in government colleges.
Cut-off Percentages: The cut-off percentages for GECs in Chhattisgarh are typically much higher, especially for sought-after branches.
Factors Affecting Cutoffs: Cutoffs vary based on factors like the total number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the reservation policies.
What to do next?
While this might be disappointing, there are other options to consider:
Explore Private Colleges: There are several private engineering colleges in Chhattisgarh that might offer admissions based on your son's score.
Consider Other Fields: Based on your son's interests, you could explore other fields like management, pharmacy, or IT.
Improve for Next Year: If your son is determined to pursue engineering, he can focus on improving his score for the next year's entrance exam.
It's essential to have a realistic assessment of the situation and explore alternative paths.
Would you like to explore other options or discuss potential career paths based on your son's interests?
Hello aspirant,
Choosing between Government Engineering College (GEC) Idukki and Government Engineering College (GEC) Wayanad can depend on various factors. The difference between both the colleges is illustrated below:
GEC IDUKKI:
Hello Aman ,
For getting into GEC NAWADA you need to fill Bihar UGEAC then you will getting your merit rank on the basis of your JEE mains rank .
As per the previous year cut offs you have to get atleast 1k-1.5k rank for cse and for civil engineering you can also get by 4.5-5k. But the cut offs depends on certain factors such as number of candidates appearing in the examination, previous year cutoffs and number of seats available in the college.
Hello Aspirant,
To get CSE or IT candidate needs to score a good score and a good rank. To get CSE your rank should be under 200 then you surely get chance in CSE. And to get IT your rank should be under 300.
According to your rank it will be difficult for you to get CSE or IT branch. It is not the exact closing rank, you can get a rough idea from here. The information is based on previous year's data. Don't lose hope and go for all the rounds. Getting a seat will depend on many factors such as your category.

Hope this will help you.
Best wishes.
Hi,
GEC Sreekrishnapuram has better placements than GEC kozhikode. The former college is also better in all aspects, be it infrastructure or faculty. The placements here are also excellent with the highest package offered being 12 LPA, lowest being 2 LPA and the average being 3.5 LPA. Many top companies visit here such as WIPRO, TCS, INFOSYS, etc.
I hope this helps,
All the best.
I guess I would have to say TKM since students usually choose TKM after CAT and CET in Trivandrum. I can guarantee that you will get good quality education in TKM in terms of work and the number of juries and field trips. It has certain drawbacks of being an aided college as opposed to GECT which is a government college. If your concern is purely about academics you can't go wrong in choosing TKM. Try to get more information about the life of an architecture student at TKM and GECT. Good luck.
Hello There Amit hope you doing well , see if your rank is under 1-2 lakhs there is a chances to get some gftis or dtu or ipu but at that point you have to compromise your branch but if your rank is 2-5 lakhs you will have less possibility to get gftis dtu or ipu but there is still a hope that some university take out the application after the counselling as some student leave their college and they have vacant seat but in this case you have to be active and search for every applications of that colleges which you want as the form is only available to specific university website but you have to wait till December for this process you can atleast take an admission in private university and if you are lucky you can change your college in December if you get accepted
you can check JEE Main Rank Predictor and you will get a list of college which are available under your rank

The infrastructure is quite good, but it is small compared to other colleges. Wi-Fi and labs are available. The speed of Wi-Fi is average most of the time. All kinds of sports facilities are available, and all kinds of sports equipments are provided by the college
The infrastructure of the college is too good. It has all the facilities and equipment for the students like WiFi, projector, separate lab with AC. The living space is always clean and the food provided by the college is hygienic for health.
Has the best teaching facility and the competitive environment gives an edge to the students to perform their best . The campus is overall decent and all the facilities are present, including wifi and big library.
