Government Autonomous Dhanwantri Ayurveda College and Hospital, Ujjain, is a well-known college providing holistic education in Ayurvedic medicine. The college adheres to a systematic and criterion-based admission procedure for its courses. Accredited by the Central Council for Indian Medicine, the college provides quality education in Ayurveda.

The admission process usually follows the national entrance tests schedule. Undergraduate admissions, the college uses the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) score. The process of applying for NEET takes place in February, with the examination taking place later in the year. Admission to postgraduation is by All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET).

For the BAMS course, which is the flagship, the eligibility criteria are completion of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. NEET examination must be cleared by the candidates in order to be eligible for admission.

Application Process

Application process of Government Autonomous Dhanwantri Ayurveda College and Hospital, Ujjain, is different for different courses:

For BAMS:

1. Attend the NEET examination.
2. The NEET application process usually begins in February, and the exam is held later in the year.
3. Qualify NEET with the prescribed cut-off score.
4. Attend the counseling process organized by the state authorities.
5. If a seat is provided, attend the college for document verification and admission procedure.

For MD Programs:

3. Be a part of the counseling process of PG AYUSH courses.

For PhD Programs:

1. Fill in the application form for the Common University level Entrance Test for the desired specialization (Dravyaguna or Rachna Sharir).
2. Clear the entrance test.
3. Appear in the interview process if shortlisted.
4. If chosen, finalize the admission procedure at the college.

Degree wise Admission Process

BAMS: The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is the major undergraduate degree provided by the college. Admissions are done on the basis of NEET marks. The intake capacity of the college for this course is 75 seats. The candidates should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

MD Programs: The college has specialized MD programs in Kayachikitsa, Rachna Sharir, and Dravyaguna. Admissions into these programs are on the basis of AIAPGET scores. 

The seat allocation is as follows:

  • MD Kayachikitsa: 3 seats
  • MD Rachna Sharir: 2 seats
  • MD Dravyaguna: 4 seats

Applicants should have a BAMS degree to be considered for these programs.

PhD Courses: The college also grants doctoral courses in Dravyaguna and Rachna Sharir. PhD admissions are done on a Common University level Entrance Test basis. There are 2 seats each for the programs. Applicants should have done MD in their respective specialization to be considered for the PhD courses.

Documents required for admission typically are:

  • NEET/AIAPGET score card
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • BAMS degree certificate and mark sheets (for PG courses)
  • MD degree certificate and mark sheets (for PhD courses)
  • Valid ID proof
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Migration certificate
  • Recent passport-size photographs

Hope you are doing well. See with a score of 330,getting a government medical won't be possible for you despite having an EWS category. This year cutoffs are expected to be somewhat similar to last year's or may increase marginally. So, I'll firstly mention the cutoff score and closing AIR for an EWS category candidate for getting a government medical seat through Madhya Pradesh state quota counselling.

It was a score of 555 with a closing AIR of 45,276. So in NEET 2021 you atleast needed to score 560+ in order to secure a government medical college through MP state quota counselling. But you can try for management quota seats if you wish to.
