Government Ayurved College and Hospital is one of the oldest and best institutions for teaching Ayurveda in Chhattisgarh, India. BAMS is the main and only course being taught in the college. The admissions at Government Ayurved College and Hospital, Bilaspur are merit-based and thus highly competitive, selecting only the best candidates.
In general, the admissions will be held in compliance with the schedule of the NEET. The entrance for BAMS courses is only accepted based on NEET. Therefore, all aspiring students need to appear for NEET and should qualify for admission with a valid score. The counseling for admission will be conducted on the basis of the NEET merit list by the Director of AYUSH.
Candidates eligible for the BAMS degree need to be HSE pass outs from the Chhattisgarh Government or from an equivalent 10+2 examination. The criteria regarding the marks should stand with an aggregate of at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. This standard is important, keeping in view the scientific background required for the Ayurvedic course.
Application Process
The procedure to get admission to Government Ayurved College and Hospital, Bilaspur, goes through the following phases:
1. NEET: Candidates should register and appear for the annual National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
2. NEET Result: Candidates will have to wait for the announcement of NEET results. Only those candidates who qualify for NEET will then be eligible for subsequent steps.
3. Counseling Registration: All those candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria need to register for counseling by the Director of AYUSH, Chhattisgarh.

Degree-Wise Admission Process
BAMS, which is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, is the main program at Government Ayurved College and Hospital, Bilaspur. The admission process for the BAMS program would be as follows:
1) Candidates must qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
2) Counseling for admission based on the NEET merit list will be conducted by the Director of AYUSH.
3) Eligibility criteria include passing the HSE under Chhattisgarh Government or an equivalent 10+2 examination with a 50% minimum aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
4) 75 seats are sanctioned for the BAMS program.
5) The course duration is six years in Ayurvedic Medicine.
