BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery):
The BAMS course is the flagship undergraduate program at Government Ayurveda College and Hospital, Varanasi. Selection to the course is through the candidate's marks obtained in the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. The college seeks students with a good foundation in these sciences, as they form an essential part of knowing Ayurvedic concepts and practices.
MD Ayurveda:
Seven specializations are offered by the college under its MD Ayurveda course. The admissions to the postgraduate courses are made through the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET). The specializations offered are:
1. MD Rasa Shastra Evam Bhaishajya Kalpana
2. MD Prasuti Evam Stri Roga
3. MD Shalya
4. MD Panchakarma
5. MD Ayurveda Samhita Evam Siddhant
6. MD Roga Nidana Evam Vikriti Vigyana
7. MD Ayurveda (General)
For all the specializations offered in MD Ayurveda, the admission procedure is the same. Candidates should pass the AIAPGET exam in order to get admission. The college gives preference to the AIAPGET scores as the major factor for selection into these postgraduate courses.
