Government Women College, Parade Ground, Jammu (GCW Jammu), is a renowned autonomous and affiliated government institution. The college has an array of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across various streams. Degree wise Admission Process
B.Sc (Medical, Non-Medical, Electronics, and Biotechnology): Admission to B.Sc programs is on the basis of merit of the students at the 10+2 level. The minimum eligibility is 50% marks in the qualifying examination for Science stream students. The college offers various specializations including Medical, Non-Medical, Electronics, and Biotechnology.
Arts (including Honour's Programs): For BA programs various Honour courses like English Literature, Geography, Home Science, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Economics, Education, History, Music, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, and Public Administration admission is based on merit. For Arts stream students, minimum eligibility is 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
For Commerce, minimum eligibility is 45% marks in the qualifying examination (for Honour's programs). BCA: Admission to the BCA Programme is given on the basis of academic merit of students at the 10+2 level.
For M.Sc Programs (Home Science, Zoology)- M.Sc. programs are in Home Science and Zoo logy. The admission procedure for these programs is based on the performance of the candidate in the undergraduate examination. M.Sc. in Home Science has an approved strength of 18 seats while M.Sc. in Zoology has 30 seats.
For MA Programs (Music and English)- The college offers M.A. music and M.A. in English. The admission is based on the undergraduate performance of the candidate. MA music has an approved strength of 20 seats, while MA English has 50 seats.
MCA admission is 30 seats, which is also offered by the college. The admission process for the MCA will be similar based on the undergraduate performance of the candidates with possible additional selection criteria.
Our college is good even academic wise. Our teachers are supportive and well educated. Each and every concept is taught properly and every student gets equal attention form every subject teacher. So I'd say academic wise too, our college is good.
I studied BSC because my interest was in science and the quality of teaching was also very good. Yes I think my curriculum was updated and it includes all the recent developments in the field like we had various topics in our subject that we were completely unaware of.
B.A - I am interested in these subjects for competative exams. I do think that our curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field . Yes , these subjects can be used if I have to join civil services, and also can be used in many other jobs.
