Government Degree College, Anantnag Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a residential facility for about 250 students. Facilities like DTH for recreation, Aqua guards for pure and safe drinking water, electric geysers for hot water in washrooms, WiFi for internet access are made available to the hostellers. The college has installed a Solar Energy Unit for augmenting the electricity supply in collaboration with JKEDI, the Government of Jammu, and Kashmir. The contributory mess is run by the hostellers themselves under the supervision of the hostel warden.

The college has a state-of-art central library, housed in a multi-story fire-safe building fully automated and equipped with Surveillance and Intercom Systems. It has a rich collection of about 59,221 Text Books on different subjects. In addition, the library has a Reference Section with 3,357 volumes, Best Seller Corner, and a lifelong subscription to N-List (online journals).

The college has science laboratories equipped with the latest instruments for carrying out practical work. Computer laboratories for Computer Applications, BCA, B.Sc. IT, BBA, BMMMC, Geography, Statistics, Electronics, and Commerce students are equipped with the latest Computers.

The college has a state—of—art Auditorium of five hundred seating capacity where seminars, conferences, workshops, debates, dramas, and extension activities are held.

The College is equipped with a modern canteen that is operated by the well-experienced carter. It provides the students and the faculty with nutritious and hygienic vegetarian food. Snacks and soft drinks are also available. Modern cooking equipment that includes steam boilers for rice and vegetables have been installed with the aim of providing wholesome food. The college canteen has the capacity to accommodate almost 100 students at any time. Both Kashmiri and other Indian dishes are served on the daily menu for the students and faculties.

The college runs a medical center under a trained Medical Assistant of the J&K Health Department meant for providing first aid to the students and faculty. In addition, the college organizes general health checkup programs for its students and staff on a quarterly basis.

The college has a vast and beautiful playground for games like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton, and Kabbadi. The college has a Mechanized Pitch Roller for maintaining the ground.
