Government Law College, Tirunelveli Admission Process

Government Law College, Tirunelveli,  and is one of the first-generation institutions for imparting legal education in Tamil Nadu and India. The college supports aspiring candidates in the law profession by being an institution recognized by the Bar Council of India. Admissions at Government Law College, Tirunelveli are meant to ensure the selection of deserving candidates on a merit basis. The college has three major law courses: the 5-year integrated B.A., LL.B. program, the 3-year LL.B. course, and the 2-year Master of Laws in Constitutional Law and Human Rights. The admissions are to be done by counseling in the 5-year B.A. LL.B. program and the 3-year LL.B. course. The foremost criterion in selection is the performance of academics of the applicants. B.A. LL.B. (5-year Integrated Program): Admission to the uncommon B.A. LL.B. program relies on academic merit via counseling. This integrated program is intended for students completing their 10+2 examinations wishing to join a full-time legal program in Arts and Law.

LL.B. (3-year Program): Counseling will serve as the mode of admission for the 3-year LL.B. program. This course is designed for graduates from any discipline who wish to pursue law.

LL.M. in Constitutional Law and Human Rights: Admission procedures here are unclear, but may be based on the LL.B. degree scores, as well as perhaps an entrance exam or interview.

LL.M. in Business Law: It is safe to assume that the above is not precisely outlined, but it would likely revolve around LL.B. performance and other considerations.

You cannot apply for LLB course after completing B.Com with 2 arrears. You should first clear all your arrears in order to pursue LLB course. Also you should score 50% marks in graduation level to apply for LLB course. CLAT is the qualifying examination to secure admission for LLB course. You will be tested in subject areas like Reasoning, GK, Language skills, Legal aptitude etc in this exam. If you successfully clear this exam and obtain a good score in it, you can apply for reputed law colleges for this course.
